Do you or someone you either live or work with have Autism? Have you considered what reasonable adjustments could look like in a work or educational space?

It's not uncommon for an autistic person to need an adjustment to ensure they can participate in the community with reduced barriers, but more often then not, go without because they don't want to stand out or appear to be getting special treatment.

A local support service is running an open fun day for those aged 6 to 12.

Kids in this age bracket, often miss out on social and group activities due to a variety of factors including school, other out of school and family events.

This is an inclusive event that those without NDIS funding can attend, but please remember the importance of being respectful of all people in attendance.

Calling our 6 to 12yr olds. We are going to hold a day at the shed.

16th January 10am to 2pm!

Games, woodwork(pallet construction), cooking, and anything else we can fit in😎

You don't need ndis to join. There will be a small cost to assist in wages. If you're struggling with money, reach out, and we'll assist so your young person can attend.

Developing skills for being more independent can look different for everyone, which is why the team at Ignition Gamers offer an alternative option for development via social gaming programs.

Did you know gaming is more then just gaming? People can develop skills in several key areas including:

● Critical thinking
● Frustration tolerance/management
● Social and communication skills
● Learning to work with others
● Planning and decision-making

Who can join? 📣 Learner drivers of any age but must be accompanied by a supervisor (aged 25+). Bring your Learner’s Licence and your supervisor’s Unrestricted Civil Road Licence.

This event promotes interaction between learner drivers and police, offering a safe learning environment for driving on country roads.

🚨IMPORTANT NOTICE: NDIS Legislative changes in effect🚨

Most people would know that the NDIS legislative changes start today (3rd of October) but may not know enough about the changes that will impact both participants and providers. 🤔🤔

Approved and non-NDIS Supports:
Participants and their authorised representatives, including nominees and plan managers, have new list of approved NDIS supports that will provide guidance to ensure that only NDIS approved supports are purchased with NDIS funding. A list of non-NDIS supports has also been drafted, to help eliminate confusion about what is not deemed reasonable & necessary under the NDIS legislation and help prevent misuse of funding. The agency has also developed a document to highlight the ability to provide replacement supports, and the processes involved in applying for them. The lists can be found here, on the NDIS website.

Other changes to come in the future include:
* How budgets are developed and made accessible (s33)
* Enhanced eligibility assessments (s30/30A)
* Impairment Notices (s32BA)
* Support Needs assessments (s32L)

Another key change to note is that unused funding will no longer roll over into new plan periods, under the new framework, but this doesn't mean "use it, or lose it". Budgets will move to a more segmented approach in future, to help reduce funding running out prematurely.
