🌟 BRIGHT START WEEKLY WRAP-UP! 🌟

It’s been another huge week here at Bright Start, and we are so proud of everything our clients have achieved!

🍕 Monday Cooking Group smashed it in the kitchen, rolling out fresh pizzas and learning new skills along the way.

🪚 Tuesday Life Skills kept the momentum going—working hard on building shelves and finishing off some painting. The teamwork and focus were unreal.

🚆 Wednesday Social Group hit the road and explored the Central Coast, discovering new spots, trying new things, and having heaps of fun together.

🌿 Friday Life Skills Group wrapped up the week by continuing their awesome planter box project. It’s coming together so well and everyone put in such a solid effort.

👏 We are so proud of every single client—your growth, independence, and positivity shines through each week.

✨ And we’re super excited for some of the big things we’ve got planned over the coming weeks… stay tuned!

Some of the Bright Start team had an amazing time at the Sportsman’s Lunch over the weekend! 🏎️

Hosted by Holzy’s Tinting and Bulga Civil Earthmoving & Concreting, the event was a fantastic effort to raise funds for the Kids With Cancer Foundation Australia. Our team got to hear from V8 SuperUte legend Jimmy Vernon Racing, what an inspiring speaker!

A huge well done to everyone involved for putting on such a great day. It was a day full of fun, community, and support for a wonderful cause! 💛

🌿 Meet Jakeob Watson – Our Indigenous & Cultural Liaison 🌿

We’re proud to announce that Jakeob Watson has recently stepped into a new role here at Bright Start Supports as our Indigenous and Cultural Liaison!

Jacob has been part of the Bright Start team for quite some time, bringing his creativity, passion, and community spirit to everything he does. In his new role, Jacob will be focusing on strengthening our connection with local Indigenous communities, sharing culture and knowledge, and helping ensure that our programs continue to be inclusive, respectful, and culturally safe for everyone.

Jakeob’s vision is to create more opportunities for participants to learn about culture, connection to Country, and Indigenous art through workshops and community events.

We’re so excited to see him step into this role and can’t wait to share what’s to come!

👏 Please join us in congratulating Jacob on his new journey as Bright Start’s Indigenous & Cultural Liaison!

🔥 Our First Bright Start Camping Trip! 🔥

What a weekend! Bright Start just wrapped up our very first camping adventure at One Mile Beach, and it was an absolute blast.

We spent the days bushwalking, swimming, fishing, and exploring Anna Bay and Shoal Bay, with plenty of laughs and good vibes along the way. Each participant helped run the camp — from setting up tents to cooking their own dinners and lunches, budgeting, and building social skills through teamwork and independence.

It was awesome seeing everyone step out of their comfort zones, try new things, and create memories that’ll last a lifetime. The camp was a little silly at times (in the best way possible!) but full of learning, fun, and growth for everyone involved.

We’re already planning more Bright Start camps soon — so if you or someone you support would love to come along next time, reach out and let us know! 🌞

🌿 Supported Employment at Bright Start!

We’re so excited to announce our newest initiative — the Bright Start Supported Employment Program, launching early November!

Our first micro-team will be offering affordable lawn mowing services across the Hunter Valley — from Maitland through to Muswellbrook. 🌱

This program connects directly with our Life Skills Group, which will serve as the training pathway for participants preparing to step into supported employment opportunities.

If you or someone you know needs their lawn mowed and would love to support local jobs and skill-building, we’d love to hear from you!

📲 Text 0437 398 261 to book a mow or find out more.

🌟 Bright Start Weekly Wrap-Up! 🌟

What a week it’s been at Bright Start! 💥

👩‍🍳 Cooking Group kicked things off with a delicious homemade feast — fish and chips made completely from scratch! The crew nailed it, turning simple ingredients into a seriously tasty lunch. 🐟🍟

💬 Tuesday was packed with meaningful one-on-one supports, and we shared some exciting news — our Life Skills Group will soon be running on Tuesdays too! 🎉

🚶‍♂️ Wednesday’s Social Group made the most of the sunshine with a scenic walk through Sandy Hollow, full of good chats, laughs, and fresh country air. 🌿

💪 Thursday brought more amazing one-on-ones where participants continued building independence, confidence, and life skills — always inspiring to see!

🪚 And on Friday, our Life Skills Group finished restoring a beautiful old table project they’ve been working hard on — it’s looking absolutely fantastic! 👏

We’ve got some huge things coming soon, and we can’t wait to share what’s next for Bright Start. Stay tuned — the best is yet to come! 🌈✨

🌟 Staff Spotlight – Amanda! 🌟

We’re shore excited to celebrate Amanda’s 12 months at Bright Start! 🏖️💛
One of our OG team members, she’s been with us through thick and thin and recently made waves as our Client Services Manager! 🌊

Amanda’s known for her sassy, bubbly, and funny energy — the kind of spark that keeps our team shining bright ✨.

When she’s not leading with heart, you’ll catch her sea-zing the day at the beach with her husband and two boys. 🐚

Her motto?

“Never let your disability define your potential.” 💪

We’re so tide-ally lucky to have her steering the ship at Bright Start. Here’s to many more amazing years ahead! 🚀💙
