Anxiety isn't our enemy .. even though it can feel like it. I know. I've been there - but the truth is .. anxiety is our messenger and it doesn’t need fixing .. it needs translating. And to do that, we need to soften the way we respond when we're anxious.

These three tips are small, ordinary things. And that’s exactly why they work. They are practical and accessible so you can reach for them anytime.

They help in the moment, but if you'd like to resolve the root cause of your anxiety - I recommend we chat.

1️⃣ Lengthen your exhale.
Your body listens to breath before it listens to logic. A slower, longer exhale tells your nervous system that the moment is safer than it feels. A longer exhale gives your body a longer way out and when you couple it with a sigh, your body gets the signal it can relax.

2️⃣ Warm your self-talk.
Anxiety really tightens its grip when we turn on ourselves. Try speaking the way you would to someone you love. Gentle. Understanding. Kind. That tone alone helps your system settle and feel less under threat. Think "It's ok. You're doing the best you can. All is well."

3️⃣ Walk outside. Barefoot if you can.
Movement gives your nervous system somewhere to send its energy. Even a few minutes of walking, feeling the ground, letting your body sway and breathe, sends a simple message: I’m here. I’m moving. I’m okay.

None of this is about trying to fix you, because anxiety is a normal part of living. It’s more about helping your system remember safety, one small signal at a time.

If anxiety has been loud lately, start here. Quietly. Kindly. One breath, one word, one step. 🤍

The next time you hear yourself say, “I am anxious,” ..try the tiniest little change.

Change “I am” to..
“Right now, I feel…”

That’s it. That is the whole tip.

On paper, it looks almost too simple, but in practice, it's a quiet little revolution.

“I am anxious” glues your identity to the feeling..
It tells your mind, “This is who I am.”

“Right now, I feel anxious” places the experience in time..
It tells your mind, “This is something I am moving through.”

One word makes it feel fixed.
One phrase reminds you it can move.

Most people underestimate how often they speak to themselves like a verdict.
“I am too sensitive.”
“I am not enough.”
“I am exhausted.”

When we shorten everything to “I am…”, we forget there was a learning process behind it, a history, a context, a younger you who learned this when it was the only way they knew how.

Switching to “Right now, I feel…” does not magically fix your life. But it does help to:
🩵 loosen the grip of old stories
🩵 give your body a little more room to breathe
🩵 create just enough space for choice

And in that space, entirely new work becomes possible.

You don't have to announce this to anyone and you don't need to journal a novel about it.

Just notice your next “I am…”
Gently change it to “Right now, I feel…”
and watch, in private, how differently your inner world responds.

You’re Judging with the Wrong Map

An unusual fact about my family history is that my ancestral grandparents had 32 children. At the time, it was reportedly the largest family in the British Empire.

People always ask, “How on earth did they manage?”

They’re asking that from 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆’𝘀 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.

In my ancestors’ world, raising children wasn’t organised around the same financial calculations we make today. Life was structured around shared labour, lineage, and community continuity. Put simply, more children meant more hands, more contribution, and a stronger family name.

Within that territory, 32 children wasn’t outrageous. It was coherent.

In NLP, we call this the map is not the territory.

We don’t respond to life as it is. We respond to our internal map of it - shaped by time, culture, and values.

So when someone’s decisions feel “crazy,” “impossible,” or even “delusional,” it’s often not the behaviour that’s the issue. It’s that we’re judging one territory using a map designed for another.

You see this everywhere. In leadership. In families. In people exhausting themselves trying to live by rules that no longer match the world they’re in.

When people hear this story, they usually say, “I could never do that.” Neither could I. It was never a record I wanted to break (haha).

But it does make me wonder why we talk endlessly about the cost of living, and rarely about 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙨𝙩 𝙤𝙛 𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙬𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙜 𝙢𝙖𝙥 𝙩𝙤 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚.

That gap is where burnout, conflict, and quiet dissatisfaction grow.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 is where we make those maps visible - and update them, deliberately.

If this shifted your perspective, even slightly, you already understand the work.

🎁 This Christmas, Give the Gift of Calm 🎁

Let’s be honest… the holidays may sparkle on the outside, but inside? Many of us are running on fumes. The full calendars, the late-night wrapping, the pressure to “be merry,” the family dynamics that require Olympic-level emotional gymnastics… it’s a lot. 🎄😅

But imagine gifting someone (or yourself) something deeper this year...
something that brings ease instead of overwhelm, grounding instead of chaos, and clarity instead of spiraling thoughts.

🎁 Introducing The Gift: Unfolding the Hidden Wisdom of Your Anxiety

This isn’t just another book under the tree.
It’s a gentle guide back to calm, spaciousness, and inner steadiness --long after the lights and tinsel are packed away.

Instead of presents that get forgotten, wear out, or gather dust…
give something that actually helps someone feel better in their everyday life.

📚 Perfect for:
- The friend who’s quietly struggling
- The family member who’s always “holding it together”
- The one who gives to everyone else but rarely to themselves
- You (because calm is a gift you deserve, too)

🌟 Give the gift of understanding. Of relief. Of hope.
A gift that truly keeps giving -into the new year and beyond.

Let’s make this Christmas a little softer, a little slower, and a whole lot more peaceful. 💖🎄

Some people are calm because they’re healed.
Others are calm because they’ve gone numb and learned how to call it peace.

Both look identical on the outside.
Both are praised.
Both are told they’re doing well.

But one is alive.
The other is simply not rocking the boat.

And a lot of what we call “personal growth” is actually just becoming more tolerable to others - while quietly abandoning ourselves.

It works.
Until it doesn’t.

Stay with whatever this just stirred.
Most people won’t.

Have you ever watched someone make choices that seem so far from what you’d expect - that you think, "How can they not see what this is doing?"
Not “delusional” in the clinical sense… just deeply out of touch with the impact.

𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁: Our minds are wired to protect us. When something feels too threatening to face, the unconscious creates a version of reality that feels safer to live in. Not accurate. Not helpful. Just.. survivable.

In NLP, we call this “reality” a person’s model of the world. One of our core NLP presuppositions is to respect another person’s model. It doesn’t mean you agree with it. It simply means you acknowledge that everyone is seeing life through their own history, fears, and filters.

When two models clash, it can definitely feel like friction… but it can also create room for understanding. Let me explain...

If you’ve genuinely accepted where someone is at and the discomfort is still there, it’s usually a sign to stop trying to shift their model and start taking care of your experience. That might mean setting a boundary, stepping back, or choosing a different level of engagement.

This is where your power is. You’re allowed to hold onto your reality with both hands, while allowing others to hold theirs. And where their model continues to cause harm, you get to decide how you participate in the dynamic.

That’s the heart of NLP - creating ecological freedom by ensuring every conversation, session and process is shared with the intention of bringing wholeness and choice.

If navigating this kind of tension is something you want support with, the tools inside The Quest will help you make sense of it with real precision.

Thank you for these beautiful words. 💛
Supporting someone as they peel back the layers, meet themselves with honesty, and finally feel what’s been waiting underneath -it’s the greatest privilege of my work.

Thank you for trusting me to walk beside you as those bricks came down, one by one.
I’m deeply grateful. 🙏🏼

Maisie 🐾 and I have walked through more therapy sessions than I can count - her sniffing the air while I process yet another client breakthrough aloud.

It’s funny how wisdom finds you on a muddy track at 7am.

Most people think they want money, love, health, or success.
But when you trace those desires back far enough, you usually end up at the same place.

Freedom.

The irony is, most of us don’t recognise it when it’s here.
We call it security. Or control. Or certainty that feels safe enough to call freedom.

It’s usually at this point on our walk that Maisie looks up at me like, “You’re overcomplicating it again.”

Maybe she’s right.
Maybe freedom isn’t something we need to work towards.
Maybe it’s what happens when we stop trying to fix where we are.

That’s the heartbeat of my book, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗚𝗶𝗳𝘁 | 𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗛𝗶𝗱𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗶𝘀𝗱𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗔𝗻𝘅𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆.
It’s life - but honest.

Not everyone can just quit their day job to “find themselves.”
Not everyone can join a midday webinar or take time off to study something new.
And truthfully, not everyone even knows what they want to do with their life.

But most people know what they 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘸𝘢𝘯𝘵.

They know what’s 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨.
They know what’s 𝘸𝘦𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮.

That’s where 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁 comes in.

It’s a safe, self-paced learning space where you can engage with each module as it arrives in your inbox, revisit the ones that speak loudly to you, or find encouragement and support in our live group mentoring sessions.

Every lesson in The Quest is designed to meet you exactly where you are - and give you something you can use that day, that week. Not just ideas, but NLP tools that shift your state.

A question that reframes a pattern.
A reflection that lands so deeply, it moves the ground beneath you.

This isn’t passive learning. It’s active transformation - from the inside out.
That’s what makes The Quest valuable. You don’t just read it. You live it.

Most people think therapy is about talking.
But it’s really about remembering.

Remembering who you were before the coping mechanisms.
Before you learned to silence your needs.
Before you convinced yourself that “this is just how I am.”

In our sessions, we don’t dwell on what’s wrong - we uncover what’s waiting to be reclaimed.

It’s not analysis. It’s awakening.

Curious? Book a session and let’s see what part of you is ready to come home.

Anxiety can feel like a never-ending spiral of racing thoughts, overwhelming feelings, and exhaustion.

Breaking out of that spiral often takes a simple but intentional pattern interrupt - a deliberate shift in focus that disrupts the cycle of anxious thinking.

The five steps in my Stop the Spiral Guide are designed to do just that.
Each step draws on proven techniques to calm your mind, ease your body, and bring you back to the present moment.

Because anxiety lives in the future - and this guide brings you home to now. Without the stories. Without the imagined catastrophes.

It’s not another “just breathe” guide. It’s a seven-day process for rewiring how your mind responds to overthinking, using the principles of NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming).

People tell me they’ve never understood their thinking process this clearly before.
That’s what makes this guide irresistible: it actually helps - and it’s free.

My gift to you. 🩵

It’s all about you

After more than 20 years working with organisations in varied roles and industries - through booms and busts - I want to help businesses and leaders navigate their own professional journey. My industry experience includes mining, manufacturing, mining equipment, technology & services, agriculture and social & community services. I’ve worked in public, private and not-for-profit organisations. My roles have included Operational Management, Project Management, HR Management, WHS Management and C Suite roles as Chief People & Culture officer and CEO. I’ve managed diverse stages of business growth and decline from successful sales and mergers/acquisitions to voluntary administration and closures of divisions. All of these experiences have provided amazing opportunities to learn and grow and shaped the leader I have become today. I am passionate about supporting businesses & individuals to achieve their aspirations and personally motivated by increasing leadership and team capabilities.

Whilst my experiences have taught me that some of the greatest leaders do not hold a single qualification relevant to their role - I love learning and as a result, I hold a Bachelors Degree in Applied Management Studies, an Advanced Diploma in Business Management, and a Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety. I am also an accredited Myers Briggs Personality Type Indicator (MBTI) Administrator as well as having studied and applied the Enneagram Personality Type tool. During my time leading a NFP Disability Service provider, I also obtained my accreditation as a Mental Health First Aider. As Director of Sincerus Business Group, I am conscious of living by what I coach and advise businesses to do. Sincerus is latin for genuine, truthful, candid, sincere. These words are core to ethical leadership and essential to healthy workplaces and successful organisations. Which is why they form the values at Sincerus Business Group and why you can expect these values to emanate in my dealings with you. I am grateful for the genuine and lasting relationships I’ve founded on my bespoke, yet practical, business approach. My authentic approach enables me to assimilate quickly into businesses and teams, ensuring early engagement with staff and maximum collaboration and engagement around client projects.
