Welcome, Welcome, Welcome…..🐾

Your in amazing hands with Tamika from !

Welcome to the Care Dogs family, Shannon & Atlanta!

This wonderful team is kicking off their journey with some super important foundation skills—especially around those big, exciting environmental distractions.

What we’re diving into:
• Building impulse control in fun, achievable ways
• Boosting focus with engaging games like hand touch
• Discovering Atlanta’s absolute favourite things in the world—and using them to strengthen her connection with Shannon
• Tapping into her love of sniffing and using those scents in the environment as an extra reward to keep training motivating and meaningful

These two are already shining, and we can’t wait to watch their partnership grow even stronger!

🕯️ Remembrance Day 2025 🕯️

Today, we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all who have fought for our freedom — and the loyal animals who stood by their side.

From the battlefields to the home front, dogs have offered bravery, comfort, and unconditional love in times of hardship.

We remember not only the men and women who gave everything, but also the faithful companions who served alongside them.

At Care Dogs & Co, we stand in gratitude and remembrance.
Lest we forget. ❤️🐾

✨ A Historic Milestone for Care Dogs & Co! ✨

Yesterday marked a truly historic moment our very first team successfully flew with Qantas! 🐾✈️

The application process was fairly standard; however, Qantas requested some additional information, which we were more than happy to provide.

We’re thrilled to see this positive step forward and are incredibly proud to have been part of this progress.

We look forward to strengthening our relationship with Qantas and sincerely applaud their efforts to update outdated policies surrounding Assistance Dogs.

Here’s to making travel more inclusive — one flight at a time! 💙🐶

No all Disabilities are visible 🌻

No all Disabilities are visible 🌻

It’s Invisible Disabilities Week (19–25 October)! 🌻

Around 80–85% of people with a disability have one that isn’t visible. These include neurological, cognitive, sensory, mental health, and chronic conditions that aren’t always immediately apparent.

Not all disabilities are visible — but a little understanding and kindness can go a long way in making everyone feel seen and supported.

Update from Melbourne Airport ✈️

In July, Melbourne Airport opened a new Assistance Animal Relief Area in Terminal 2 (International). It is located after security and border controls between Gates 8 and 15.

With this addition, all four terminals at Melbourne Airport now have relief areas for Assistance Animals.

o Terminal 1 (Qantas domestic): The relief area is located after security on the way to Gates 1-12 (opposite to Hungry Jacks).
o Terminals 3 & 4 (other domestic airlines): The relief area is located after security in the food court shared by both terminals. It is next to the Sunglass Hut store.

Each of the three relief areas contains synthetic grass, an animal water fountain, a handwashing basin, and an emergency call point.

A big thank you to the Melbourne Airport team for their continued efforts to make travel more accessible and comfortable for Handlers and their Assistance Animals 🐕‍🦺❤️

An important note for Handlers accessing the relief area in Terminal 3 & 4:
On October 16, Virgin Australia’s Pets in Cabins initiative will commence, allowing approved pets in secure carriers to travel on domestic flights. While Melbourne Airport has instructed Virgin Australia to ensure pet owners toilet their animals before entering the terminals, they may also use the designated relief areas. Signage has been installed to clearly state that Assistance Animals have priority. For your safety, please be aware of potential interactions with pets in these spaces. If you notice that the policy around prioritising Assistance Animals is not being followed, or if you experience an issue, please contact Melbourne Airport to report your concern. It is our hope that Virgin Australia will work with pet owners to ensure these spaces remain safe, respectful and accessible for those who rely on them the most.
