Humanitarian Clowns Inc

Humanitarian Clowns Inc Founded in 2011 by Tim Webster and Co Founders: Tarah Sherson and Margueritte Webster.

Humanitarian clowns and Circus for Humanity is an Australian charity, uniting performers to deliver joy and connection through humanitarian clowning and circus arts in vulnerable communities, hospitals, nursing homes and orphanages across the world. We currently have a strong team of 10 Committee members working very hard to continue to promote compassionate joy and laughter all around the world. Our aim is to provide a service to other NGO organizations working in developing Countries around the world, assisting in Community Development projects and promoting love and happiness through Social clowning. Currently we are planning on creating a trip once a year, to a different location around the world, whilst continuing to support local charitable organizations and medical centres within Australia. Our trips are open for anyone to participate with no experience required, as the trips are designed to teach you everything about Humanitarian Clowning, Community Development and idea's about getting involved within your own community at home. Our current projects are our 2012 Trip to India and our 2013 Trip to Cambodia, we are currently building relationships with Charitable Organizations within Australia. We welcome anyone to this page, to express ideas, network with individuals participating on a trip, business's or groups that require lectures on Humour and Humanitarian Clowning in their workplace, NGO's that wish for Humanitarian Clowns Abroad to assist with their projects, help with fundraising or anyone that knows people within the media to promote Humanitarian Clowns Inc.

The crew from our Victorian Chapter hit the streets of Melbourne last night with Steve from Portable Beds Project, Justin and Sherryn from The Short Straw and Tim the amazing outreach worker and handed out self inflating mats and sleeping bags to people sleeping rough on our city scapes….
Due to the vulnerability of those we worked with last night we don’t take photos while we are handing out…. But we took a few selfies before and in between following shots! Hahahaha

Thanks to all the clowns that rocked it last night! My step count was over 15000 so we walked around 10km!! That’s an awesome effort!

Watch this space for more to come with our Houseless HelpUP program!

Humanitarian Clowns Victoria Chapter had the absolute pleasure of delivering a very special Tyler Shaw Random Act of Clowness to this beautiful couple on Tuesday…..

After a 25 years of marriage and a diagnosis tha no one would want…. They decided to renew their wedding vows on a shoe string budget…. But couldn’t afford a photographer…. When clowns got wind of this we knew exactly what to do!!

Thanks to our very creative photographer Treasurer here in Vic…. Nicole stepped in and has given them the photos that will add to their love story and give their Grandkids something to cherish long after they’ve gone!

Congratulations to Terrie and Rod on such a beautiful day! May the next phase of your journey together bring you nothing but laughter and love! ❤️

Wanting Hoops for Laos.

We are currently doing a call out to see if anyone has any spare hoops that could be donated to our cause, hula hoops have been a huge success for the kids on our Circus for Humanity tours as the kids love playing with them.

We are hoping to get about 20 hoops and send them over to Laos for our 2026 tour to share with all the kids and then leave them behind for them.

If you have any spare hoops and coming to Glow Fest this November, We will have a small circus for humanity marquee and would love to grab them from you.

Alternatively we will also be collecting small donations to get these hoops over to Laos and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Our good friends at Performers Without Borders is looking for one extra person to join their crew for their upcoming Philippines tour.

If this sounds like something you would be keen on doing in short notice, get in contact with Jamie or Gina at pwb ASAP. 😍😁😍

**Filled**
📢We are searching for a super last-minute replacement volunteer for our tour with the UN SDSN in the Philippines.
Arrival in Cebu on November 10th. 30 days in the country on tour.

Costs...
£500 tour cost: this covers all your transportation, food and accommodation for the 30 days.

Flights, travel insurance (required), and any personal items you require, such as medication.

We will support you by helping you organise a fundraising event to cover the entirety of your costs after the tour.

For interested applicants, we have a documentary showing the experience from last year; reach out for a link to see if this is for you.

Who are we looking for?
Circus artists, flow artists, fire artists, dancers, actors, musicians, videographers, photographers, workshop leaders, and facilitators.

What will we do?
Over the 30 days, you will teach approximately 3000 students and perform to audiences totalling over 10,000 (potential TV and press conferences). Teaching for roughly 4 hours each day, usually performing 2 shows, travelling for up to 5 or 6 hours in different modes of transport, and living together as a team of six, usually in dorm-style accommodation.

Where will it happen?
Remote areas of the Philippines. Small communities, mountain villages and tropical islands so small they have no roads.

Is it dangerous?
Yes.

What do I need?
Two recent references (character & professional), a police/background check, the funds to cover the costs, time before the 10th to remotely meet the team and have chats with tour leaders, etc.
The most important thing is your attitude; it's hard work in a hot country. Excellent communication is essential.

Please contact us. ASAP 🙏
