Blister Pack Recycling Update

Hi Everyone

As many of you know, we’ve been collecting blister packs for recycling over the past year.

We’ve recently been informed that blister packs containing both plastic and foil can’t currently be recycled through our existing program and will end up in landfill.
Only blister packs made entirely from aluminium, like the example pictured, can still be recycled.

I’d really like to continue offering a recycling option for all blister packs, but the cost of a full recycling service is currently too high for a small business to sustain.

If you have any ideas or suggestions on how we can continue to provide this service for our community, please let us know in the comments.

Free shingles vaccination is available under the National Immunisation Program (NIP) for people most at risk of complications. Eligible groups can receive a 2-dose course of Shingrix at no cost:

- Adults aged 65 years and over*
- First Nations people aged 50 years and over

Immunocompromised adults aged 18 years and over with:
- Haematopoietic stem cell transplant
- Solid organ transplant
- Haematological malignancy
- Advanced or untreated HIV

*If you have previously received Zostavax you will need to wait 5 years before being eligible for a free vaccine
