Feeling grateful ✨
Yesterday I had a follow-up with my infectious disease specialists and my blood work is completely back to normal. Now I’ve officially been discharged from outpatients!
Back in September, I returned home from a beautiful holiday feeling… not so beautiful.
I couldn’t stand without help...
I developed sudden muscle weakness in my legs, fluid in both knees, fevers, high inflammatory markers, changes in my liver function, and a strange rash.
I spent a week in hospital, needing a walker to even get to the toilet.
Thankfully my body began to recover on its own, so it was suspected to be a viral infection - though still unknown. There’re more viruses to test than blood I have available… but all of the more serious ones have been ruled out.
I’m deeply grateful for the thorough medical care, testing, and support I received in hospital.
And once I returned home, I was equally grateful for my naturopathic knowledge and herbal medicine to support my recovery, energy, and immune system in the weeks that followed. Along with the support of my partner, family and friends.
I experienced some post-viral fatigue for a little while, but now I’m symptom free, walking normally again, and feeling like myself. With a return to my full work and patient availability.
This experience gave me a whole new appreciation for my body and its ability to heal. And a deep empathy for those going through their own health journeys.
Thank you to everyone that sent their love and support to me over the last couple of months.
