We love 💛 this list of 8 ways parents can model kindness and teach their kids about compassion. Read Fatherly’s whole article to delve deeper into each area.

1. They don’t teach kindness; they encourage compassionate qualities
2. They are kind in public
3. They explain their actions
4. They are outright in their gratitude for their kids and their lives
5. They don’t scold their kids in public (when they can avoid it)
6. They always show empathy for their child
7. They read with them
8. They recognize that teaching compassion takes a long time

In a world where we can be anything, let’s be kind 🙌

This is important.

Baby poo 💩 … Not the most glamourous topic and one that no one realises becomes so commonly discussed after having a baby, however it’s useful for new parents to know the variety of colours, textures and consistency so they’re aware of what is normal and when to be alarmed. Happy reading!! 😆

Would you know what to do if the unthinkable happened and your child was in an emergency situation at home?

Our friends at Kindred Midwifery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology have partnered with CPR Kids to offer monthly baby and child first aid classes located onsite at Kindred – starting Saturday 19 February.

These classes are facilitated by an experienced paediatric nurse and midwife with child health qualifications; and are suitable for parents to be, parents of babies (welcome to bring your baby along up until 9 months of age) and parents of young children/toddlers.

Congratulations Kindred Midwifery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology for helping to keep our kids safe👏

We have some exciting news 🎉

😴 Sleep oh glorious sleep! All expectant parents know having a baby will mean late nights, early mornings and lots of broken sleep. But until you’ve experienced the often relentless sleep deprivation associated with caring for a bub you can’t really know how exhausting it can be.

raisingchildren.net.au have some simple but effective advice to remind parents to:
🕖 Aim for a regular bedtime routine
📱 Avoid screens in the bedroom
💤 Nap during the day
🏃 Exercise
🍏 Eat well

Don’t forget – lowering your expectations in these difficult first months is also great for our mental health 🙌 Wishing a deep and long night’s sleep xx
