Today is our Christmas Fair, open from 10:30am to 1:30pm in the Village Centre Activities Room.

Some stall holders may be cash only and the sausage sizzle that operates from 12:30pm is CASH only due to the proceeds being donated to our December Charity, The Hobart City Mission.

Tickets are on sale from today, up until, Thursday 18th of December when the winners are drawn at our Resident's morning tea at 10:45am.

From Monday 1st to Thursday 11th of December the Vaucluse Gardens community is accepting new and unopened children's toys, gifts and Christmas treats on behalf of the Hobart City Mission's 'JOY DRIVE'.

Donations can be dropped off at the collection point in the Village Centre up until 12pm Thursday 11th December, from that time no further donations can be accepted as the items are required for distribution.

The sign up sheets for our upcoming Resident Christmas Dinner are out today.

If you would like to attend, please RSVP your name and number of guests to the date of your choice. Both dinners have been popular in previous years so be sure to RSVP to Reception soon before they are booked out.

Cost of attendance is $39.15 for Apartment Residents and $42.68 for Unit Residents.

Happy 100th birthday!
This morning we celebrated Jean’s milestone birthday in the Village Centre.

Jean has been a resident at Vaucluse for 10 years and she still maintains an active lifestyle within and outside the Village.

Congratulations on a life lived well 🎂

Once again the Vaucluse Gardens community is please to support the Share the Dignity 'It's in the Bag' Christmas appeal.

New or in good condition bags, filled with essential personal care items will be gladly accepted at the Village Centre between the 1st to the 28th of November 2025.

From 1 November, a new Aged Care Act will come into effect.

This Act introduces important changes to how aged care in Australia is delivered - with a focus on the rights and needs of older people.

The reforms are significant and complex - and they may affect you or someone you care for.

To help people understand what’s changing, COTA Australia and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) are hosting information sessions around the country.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to:
· Learn about the new Aged Care Act and what it means in practice
· Understand what will change in the aged care system
· Ask live questions and receive clear information
· Share your views and experiences to help guide the rollout

After-hours event to suit people’s busy lives!

Older people must be at the heart of this change. Your voice matters.
That’s why we’re encouraging older Australians, their families and other supporters, as well as interested community members, to attend and be part of the discussion.

These sessions are not designed for aged care providers or professionals.
