Happy 100th birthday!
This morning we celebrated Jean’s milestone birthday in the Village Centre.

Jean has been a resident at Vaucluse for 10 years and she still maintains an active lifestyle within and outside the Village.

Once again the Vaucluse Gardens community is please to support the Share the Dignity 'It's in the Bag' Christmas appeal.

New or in good condition bags, filled with essential personal care items will be gladly accepted at the Village Centre between the 1st to the 28th of November 2025.

From 1 November, a new Aged Care Act will come into effect.

This Act introduces important changes to how aged care in Australia is delivered - with a focus on the rights and needs of older people.

The reforms are significant and complex - and they may affect you or someone you care for.

To help people understand what’s changing, COTA Australia and the Older Persons Advocacy Network (OPAN) are hosting information sessions around the country.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to:
· Learn about the new Aged Care Act and what it means in practice
· Understand what will change in the aged care system
· Ask live questions and receive clear information
· Share your views and experiences to help guide the rollout

After-hours event to suit people’s busy lives!

Older people must be at the heart of this change. Your voice matters.
That’s why we’re encouraging older Australians, their families and other supporters, as well as interested community members, to attend and be part of the discussion.

These sessions are not designed for aged care providers or professionals.

The village dining room and reception is closed today for the local public holiday.

If you require assistance onsite between the hours of 7am to 9pm a member of our care team can be reached via 0407 002 782.

The reception reopens from 9am Friday 24th October.

We’re expanding our dedicated care team and are currently seeking a Domestic & Personal Care Assistant to join us on a casual basis.

This role involves covering ad hoc day shifts (to support leave coverage), with a primary focus on evening and weekend shifts on a fortnightly rotation.

About the Role:
As part of our care team, you will provide:
Personal care services
Domestic cleaning (Residential and Communal spaces)
Catering support
Social support to our valued Village Residents

What We’re Looking For:
Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or Disability Support
Compassionate, reliable, and professional attitude
Availability for evening and weekend shifts

Today's visitor clearly hasn't read our frequently asked questions wherein it stipulates that you must be over the age of 65 years....

He/She appears to be capable of independent living so that's a step in the direction 🐾
