Your body is like playdoh!

I don't like the sponge analogy - but anyways you and your body adapt to EVERYTHING you give it.

So think about it like this:
โ–ถ if you're trying to build muscle, how do you expose yourself to things to do that?

โ–ถ if you're injured, how do you expose yourself to movement and exercises to help you grow stronger (and not injure you further)

โ–ถ if you're trying to lose weight, what things can you do over TIME which can help you get there?

A mistake which puts unnecessary pressure on yourself is being impatient for time-based goals.

Habits aren't built over night, nor are strong capable bodies.

So what can you do from here?

Start to think about how you can expose yourself to MORE positive things which help your health and fitness goals.

Compound these positives with time and you've got a recipe for success.

If you're interested in exposing yourself to the right exercises at the right time and build long term sustainable habits, you can book in a call with me here! Would love to craft a plan together with you

How to stay consistent with exercise ๐ŸŽ™
-
๐ŸฆDoes it feel like you've fallen off track? Don't blame you. Crazy times
-
๐Ÿฅ  I've read a sort of new habit formation research paper and got these 5 questions from it.
-
๐Ÿฑ Ask yourself these questions if you feel like your workout has lost its magic!
-
๐Ÿ‡How do you stay consistent with your exercise routine?

21/07/2020

How long should you intermittent fast for? The answer might surprise you.
-
In high school I did a 36hr fast because I was watching some low carb Cory on YouTube ๐Ÿ˜‚
-
๐Ÿ”Ž But does it make a difference with how long your eating window is?
-
Not really.
-
Both simply limit the opportunity to eat.
-
But both had some great calorie deficits!
-
โœ… Whatโ€™s your intermittent fasting set up

So you just ate, but youโ€™re feeling like fries now?? ๐ŸŸ
-
๐ŸฅI spoke to about eating habits and all things diet. A whole bunch of tips will be in the Trimmed Newsletter!
-
๐ŸŽฒ Distract - thinking about food makes you want food. Create a list of things that can take your attention else where
-
โฐ Delay - Karly called this urge surfing. Ride the wave and set yourself a time before going in
-
๐Ÿฅค Drink - did you know I ate 3 subs in under 20mins? My trick was to not drink water. Not sure how that relates but hunger might be thirst
-
๐Ÿ‘‹ Decide - have a piece of chocolate and leave it at that. Mindful eating... that might be in the next newsletter
-

๐Ÿง Does it matter how you spread out your protein?
-
We talkin gains mang
-
๐Ÿค“ 2 groups, one with an even spread of protein per meal and the other uneven.
-
Both groups went through a gym program.
Here's what they found
-
๐Ÿคฏ The even spread had 41% more muscle growth compared to the uneven spread.
-
Does this change how you plan your meals?
-
Now before you start the 6 meals a day food prep, here's what you need to know
-
It was a reletively small study, and it was only a 12 week study so it mightnโ€™t be as important in the long run.
-
BUT whatโ€™s even cooler is
-
๐ŸŽ This study was included in the Trimmed newsletter. I curate the health news and research so you donโ€™t have to

๐Ÿ–๐Ÿผ The 5 minute rule
-
๐Ÿง  It's a human tendency to avoid the tough stuff.
Morning jogs, projects, getting back to emails.
But what can you do about that?
-
๐Ÿ“š I've found an article about the 5-minute rule.
It's part of cognitive behavioural therapy and used by the co-founder of Instagram Kevin Systrom to get stuff done.
-
๐Ÿคฏ Yallah get started already

Here's one theory of how these work ๐Ÿงช
-
Myofascial release aka ouch.
-
It's a great way to relax a muscle to help you exercise and get stronger.
-
๐ŸฅŠ The intended goal is usually to get these knots out of the muscle.
Research says that we can't break any knots.
-
๐Ÿ‘พ So I think it's your brain that's doing the work with these releases.
Telling the muscles being pressed to relax.
-
๐Ÿ’ธ Do you have these in your warm-ups? What for?

Super lower back ๐ŸŽฎ
-
If bending forward (flexion) is no good try these out ๐Ÿ˜Š
-
Found this banger of a song so I had to do something with it
-
๐Ÿ•นHowโ€™s everyoneโ€™s lower back been going since quarantine tings?
