Active Hand and Upper Limb Therapy is committed to excellent customer service. Our Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists are trained in the specialty of Hand Therapy and splinting. We provide individualised rehabilitation and management plans for a variety of hand and arm injuries and conditions including fractures, sprains, strains, tendon/ nerve/ joint injuries, and following surgical procedures. Modalities include wound management, oedema management, custom made thermoplastic splinting/ orthosis, pain management, soft tissue management, dry needling, electrotherapy, strengthening, and stretching programmes. Active Hand Therapy is happy to treat patients under WorkCover, private health funds/ insurance, DVA and EPC/MBS (Medicare) GP plans.

Hands-on learning never stops 👋 😆

We hosted a splinting night to fine-tune our techniques, share tips, and make sure every splint we craft fits like it should — with precision and comfort.

Always good to get the team together, roll up the sleeves, and keep pushing for better outcomes for our patients!

Big Congrats to Hamish for completing his three year Hand Therapist Accreditation!!

Hamish is our shoulder and upper limb expert often found in our surgeons clinics but he has many strings to his bow. He supervises some lower limb training sessions, has expert wound care knowledge, can cast and splint and now he has his Hand Therapy accreditation. Legend!

Ashlyn is currently working in our northern Gold Coast clinics and running our splinting workshops.

We also have internationally recognised therapists and therapists that have studied a Masters of Hand Therapy. Active Hand Therapy is the preferred hand therapists for the Sun’s, Titans, Surfing Australia, Athletics Australia and Tennis Australia. Where are we located?

Coomera, Southport, Palm Beach, Tugun and all private hospitals.

Do you need an appointment?

Yes. But, we understand that injuries are not always planned and we will always fit urgent patients in. If you give our admin a call, they can assist you in speaking with one of our therapy team.

What do we treat?

Everything from the tips of the fingers to the shoulder! If you have injured yourself or it is a chronic condition our therapists can help. We are specialists in diagnosing, treating and rehabilitation.

What does a Hand Therapist’s do?

We can diagnose and treat. All our therapists can review X-rays and scans, assess injuries and give specialist advice. At Active Hand Therapy we can custom make waterproof casts, splints, orthosis, braces and exercise programs. We provide dry needling, strength assessments, work place programs, scar management and post surgical care.

Do I need a referral?

Referrals are not necessary, call our admin team to book an appointment today!
