One of the most common questions we hear during pregnancy is, “Is this normal?” There are times when it’s important to check in. You should contact your obstetrician if you notice:

- Reduced or changed fetal movements: If your baby’s movements feel different, slower or less frequent than usual. Trust your instincts.

- Persistent or severe headaches: Especially if they don’t improve with rest or paracetamol, or are accompanied by visual changes.

- Sudden or significant swelling: Mild swelling can be normal. Rapid swelling in the face, hands or around the eyes should be reviewed.

- Symptoms of high blood pressure: Headache, blurred vision, upper abdominal pain or feeling generally unwell.

- Signs of early labour: Regular tightening, pelvic pressure, back pain or fluid loss before 37 weeks.

Pregnancy can bring many new sensations, and it’s not always easy to know what’s expected and what’s not. At Grace Private, we would always rather you call and feel reassured than sit at home feeling unsure. If something doesn’t feel right, reach out!
