✨ Come down and visit us today at the GCUH main foyer ✨

We are recruiting healthy children under 12 to try different oxygenation methods so that we can better understand how much oxygen gets delivered to the lungs and bloodstream.

If you are interested in participating we'll provide free parking, a free coffee voucher and lunch on us at either Subway or Zambrero's. 🎉

Congratulations Amy Sweeny on receiving a JumpStart grant from the Emergency Medicine Foundation to lead vital research on older populations at Gold Coast Health.

This project will explore what matters most to older Australians, especially those with frailty or dementia, during episodes of emergency care.

🏥 What care setting do they prefer?

😃 How can we make their experience better?

Their findings aim to inform a framework of consumer-identified priorities, guiding the delivery of emergency care in the future.

We’re thrilled to share that our Emergency Department Collaborative Research Group has been honored with the Velocity Award at the Queensland Health Research Showcase, recognising our commitment to moving research from theory into practice and delivering real-world solutions to improve health outcomes for all Queenslanders.
Professor Julia Crilly OAM accepted the award on behalf of the team, reflecting on how far we’ve come from publishing just three papers in 2005 to conducting nationally competitive, impactful studies across multiple hospitals.
This award is not just a milestone—it’s a celebration of innovation, impact, and ongoing dedication to putting patient care at the heart of everything we do.
Thank you to everyone in our team, our support partners, and to Health Translation Queensland for helping us bring evidence into action and improve wellbeing across our community.
