Micro-needling: a client favourite!

Microneedling is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses fine, sterile needles to create controlled micro-channels in the skin. These micro-channels activate the skin’s natural repair processes and support collagen production over time.

Because of how the skin responds, many clients choose to incorporate microneedling into their regular skin maintenance routine. Treatment plans and frequency should always be individualised, as results and suitability vary from person to person.

A thorough consultation with a qualified clinician is essential to ensure this treatment aligns with your skin health goals.

Annual IPL Maintenance Treatment

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light-based treatment commonly used as part of ongoing skin maintenance.

Many people choose to have IPL on the arms after summer, when cumulative sun exposure can become more noticeable.

If you've had the treatment before, a maintenance treatment is generally quick and minimally invasive, with most clients describing low levels of discomfort.

Timing is important - IPL is typically performed when the skin is no longer tanned to reduce risks and improve suitability.

As with any treatment, there are potential risks and temporary side effects. These may include redness, mild swelling, warmth in the treated area, temporary pigment changes, or skin sensitivity. These effects usually settle within a short period, but individual responses vary.

A personalised consultation with a qualified clinician is essential to assess skin type, sun exposure history, and suitability before treatment.

Honestly… how good is having your face cleansed by a professional before a treatment?

No matter the treatment, a thorough professional cleanse is an important step in skin preparation — but it also just feels like pure luxury. Clean hands, clinical technique, quality products, and a moment to relax before your treatment begins.

Sometimes it’s the small details that elevate the entire experience.

Stimulate collagen for smooth, firm skin

At Queensland Skin and Laser in Brisbane, microneedling (skin needling) supports your skin’s natural renewal process, improving texture, tone, and overall skin quality.

The treatment creates tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin, triggering your body’s healing response and boosting collagen and elastin, proteins that help skin stay smooth, firm, and resilient.

Great for: fine lines, wrinkles, acne or minor scars, sun damage, pigmentation, large pores, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Not suitable for: active skin infections, eczema or psoriasis flare-ups, keloid-prone skin, or certain medical conditions.

Possible side effects: temporary redness, swelling, pinpoint bleeding, tenderness, dryness, or irritation. Rarely, pigmentation changes may occur.

A consultation with our dermal clinicians is essential to ensure suitability and minimise risks.
