ABC news story about the lovely Fitzgerald family who I was lucky enough to care for.

Leonie Fitzgerald had a seizure in hospital the night before she was due to give birth to the tiny trio in a planned caesarean delivery. Her obstetrician says she's a "very, very lucky" woman.

Finally, a flood story with a happy ending and I got to be part of it!!

Surrounded by floodwaters, Krystle Henry and her partner had started planning for a home birth, when a 'Good Samaritan' from three doors down helped her to safety.

Hello everyone. This is my neice, Erin, who is fundraising for the Cancer Council by chopping off her beautiful red hair. The hair gets donated to assist those who have lost it through their treatment, and money donated on Erin's behalf for sacrificing her hair goes to the Cancer Council. It's a fantastic, wonderful and selfless thing she is doing. If any of you feel inclined and generous, please click on the link and donate. I am very very proud of her.

I’ve decided to for Cancer Council’s Ponytail Project. Cancer affects us all and it's time we all stood together to do something about it. Please donate to help stop cancer.

Today is World Prematurity Day - a commemoration of all the preterm babies born around the world - currently more than 1 in 10 babies are prem and it is the leading cause of death for children under the age of 5. So, let me introduce you to my own little premmie - my second son, Amahl, born early at 31wks 5 days, weight 1.6kg. He's all grown up now (at the ripe old age of 10) - but my memories of the time he was in the intensive care nursery will be with me forever. His journey reminds me of how hard it can be to have your baby come prematurely and how lucky we were that he had a good outcome. So, if you think of it, light a candle at 7pm and keep those families in your thoughts.
