🐰 Happy Easter from AVHS!

Just a heads up, all AVHS clinics and head office will be closed from Friday 3rd April to Monday 6th April, reopening Tuesday 7th April.

We know it’s never ideal when we’re closed, so if you need urgent care over the break, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your nearest emergency service.

See you Tuesday! 💛

Thank you to Shayne Neumann MP for visiting us at Australian Veteran Health Services in Springfield Central last Friday.

We appreciated the opportunity to discuss our work supporting veterans and to acknowledge Shayne’s strong and consistent advocacy for veterans and their families, both in his electorate of Blair and nationally.

His interest in the practical challenges facing veterans and the services that support them was very much welcomed by our wonderful team.

As a psychiatrist, you’re already in demand.

The real question isn’t “Where can I work?”, it’s “How do I want to work?”

With Australian Veteran Health Services, you can:

Work from anywhere in Australia
Conduct structured, clinically focused telehealth consults.
Have operational and admin support around you, instead of on your shoulders.

No commute. No waiting rooms. No practice ownership headaches.
Just psychiatry, delivered from the environment where you do your best thinking.

If you’re FRANZCP (or equivalent) and interested in flexible sessional or part‑time work from anywhere in Australia, we’d like to talk.

We are pleased to introduce our new physiotherapy service for veterans and serving members, designed to support recovery, improve mobility, and enhance long-term physical wellbeing.

Our physiotherapy service focuses on conditions commonly experienced by veterans, including musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, mobility limitations, and rehabilitation following service-related conditions. Treatment plans are tailored to each individual and aim to help veterans maintain independence, reduce pain, and improve overall function in daily life.

Our physiotherapist works closely with our general practitioners and broader clinical team, ensuring care is coordinated and aligned with each veteran’s overall health plan. This integrated approach supports better outcomes and continuity of care.

To engage with physiotherapy services, veterans can access a referral from one of our GPs.

Who can access this service?

This service is available to veterans who hold:
A DVA Gold Card
A DVA White Card with an approved condition
Veterans accessing treatment through the Provisional Access to Medical Treatment (PAMT) program

Our team is committed to providing veteran-centred care that recognises the unique health needs of those who have served. If you would like to learn more or book an appointment with one of our GPs to discuss a physiotherapy referral, please contact us.

Community Connections in Mount Gambier.

It was a privilege to be part of the recent Veterans SA Community Connections event at the Mount Gambier Community RSL.

Dr Andrew Cronin joined the South Australian Minister for Veterans’ Affairs, Joe Szakacs, and local ESO groups to support the regional veteran community. As part of the AVHS Outreach Program, Dr Cronin provided clinical appointments at no cost to veterans, assisting with DVA assessments and health referrals.

With over 45 veterans in attendance, the two days were a great success, fostering one-on-one connections and collective support.

Thank you to the Mount Gambier Community RSL for hosting such an impactful event.
