At Goodstart Springfield Lakes, we love incorporating numbers and counting into every part of our play 🌟

Through this fun, hands-on activity, children explored numbers using their gross motor skills—learning through movement, teamwork, and active play. It’s a wonderful way to build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning, supporting Outcome 4: Confident and Involved Learners.

We love seeing our little learners grow in so many ways! 💛

Families, how do you encourage counting and number play at home? We’d love to hear your ideas in the comments below 👇

💦 Exploring, discovering, and splashing into learning! 💦

At our centre, play is the foundation of deep learning. These curious little minds are engaging in hands-on water play - building fine motor skills, experimenting with cause and effect, and nurturing social connections.

This moment reflects our commitment to the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) outcomes, especially:
• Outcome 4: Children are confident and involved learners
• Outcome 5: Children are effective communicators

Guided by the National Quality Standards (NQS), we create environments that promote Quality Area 1: Educational Program and Practice and Quality Area 3: Physical Environment, ensuring every child thrives in a safe, stimulating space.

🌱 Enrolments now open! Come see how we turn everyday play into extraordinary learning.

Their dedication, curiosity, and passion for supporting children’s learning has shone through every step of the way. Balancing study with the day‑to‑day energy of the educator role is no small feat, and this milestone reflects her commitment to growing as an educator and giving their very best to our little learners.

🌟 Well done, Alex!
We’re so excited to see where this next chapter in your early childhood journey takes you, and we feel incredibly lucky to have you as part of our team.

From today, all families eligible for CCS who may not have met the activity hours test previously are automatically entitled to 72 hours per fortnight with First Nation's children receiving 100 hours.

“Research shows that three days of early learning each week in the years before school are the minimum necessary for children to develop the skills necessary to thrive at school. Under the previous rules, children whose parents ‘failed’ the activity test could only access early learning one day a week.
Children’s access to learning and better life outcomes should not be restricted by the circumstances of their parents. Every child deserves the opportunity for success. The Three Day Guarantee was a key recommendation of the Productivity Commission’s 2024 inquiry into early learning". Jeff Harvie, Goodstart Early Learning Deputy CEO.

If the timing is right for your family to make use of the three‑day guarantee, we warmly invite you to come by and see how our centre could support your child’s growth and happiness.

🎨 Collaborative Creativity in Action! 🖌️

During this experience, our little artists came together for a vibrant group painting session exploring textures, colours, and teamwork!

Using pinecones, brushes, and stamps, they created a shared masterpiece filled with imagination and joy.
Group art activities like this help children:
✨ Develop fine motor skills
🧠 Express creativity
🤝 Build social connections
💬 Learn to share and collaborate
We love watching their ideas come to life and the giggles along the way!
