π³A Cooking Program for Springfield Adolescents is Coming!
Join Food for the Brain Springfield (F4TBS) β a 3-week, 2-hour cooking program for adolescents (ages 10β19) that combines fun, hands-on food preparation with nutrition education to support wellbeing.
β¨ More than cooking β F4TBS is about fun, learning, and connecting with peers π!
Dates: Three Saturdays between March and June 2026 (exact dates to be confirmed)
Time: 9β11 am for ages 10β14; 12β2 pm for ages 15β19
Location: YMCA Springfield Central Community Centre (Address: 134A Parkland Dr, Springfield Central QLD 4300)
Group size: 15-20 participants per group
Facilitator: A Qualified Dietitian, and/or a Student Dietitian and a research staff
Fee: Nil (Free)
Through fun, hands-on group activities, participants will:
Learn about healthy eating on a budget and how food may affect your mood
Practise food preparation skills
Connect and socialise with other Springfield adolescents
Complete a short survey before and after the program
Receive a certificate of completion when they finish the program and complete the surveys
