Today Mark Butler will make announcements regarding how the NDIS will change. As providers we wait to see how will have to pivot and adapt in order to meet these changes - and still provide the support our participants and communities deserve. The NDIS is a good thing. It is world leading and supports those in communities to live ordinary lives. But the narrative coming from government and through to the press is destructive and divisive. As PWDA CEO says, 'Trust is being eroded because of what our politics has done to the NDIS.'

The NDIS is essential social infrastructure. Something Australians believed in.
A system that ensures people with disability can live, work and participate in our communities.
Now, trust in the NDIS is being eroded.
Not because people don’t understand why it matters when it’s explained. Most do.
Trust is being eroded because of what our politics has done to the NDIS.
Lives depend on these supports to thrive and sometimes exist at all. And once those cuts are made, the consequences do not stay contained. They show up in hospitals, in crisis systems, in families, and in lives cut short.
And we cannot afford that.
