Today we join other Australians in a National Day of Mourning to honour the 15 lives lost in the Bondi Beach terrorist attack.

We are all encouraged to mark the day with a minute of silence, light a candle and perform a mitzvah - an act of kindness that brings light into the world.

As a healthcare charity, we also take this moment to acknowledge and thank the healthcare professionals and first responders who cared for those affected.

Today, we remember. We stand together. And we choose light.

When Natarajan was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, it had already spread to his brain and liver.

Thanks to life-saving surgery and clinical trials at Royal North Shore Hospital, he found hope and a path forward. A decade later, his scans show no further cancer spread. Today, Natarajan is living proof of how medical research and philanthropy can offer a fighting chance.

This Thank You Thursday, we’re holding on to the Christmas spirit for a little longer to say a huge thank you to Maggie and the wonderful team at Handprints Turramurra Nursery.

The team participated in Costumes for Cancer last year, and their creativity and kindness spread even further when they decorated Christmas baubles to bring joy for patients spending the holidays in hospital.

We’re truly grateful to this amazing nursery community for getting involved and helping us spread cheer when it’s needed most. 🎄💖

Born at just 1.234kg, baby Mariah spent her first Christmas in the North Shore Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, surrounded by nurses who cared for her around the clock.
