Introducing one of the most important seats in the hospital…
The Daddy Chair. 👶🪑
You may have seen the “husband chairs” outside changing rooms in shops…
Well, in maternity wards we have something much more special.

This is where dads learn the art of the cuddle.
Where tiny heads rest on big shoulders.
Where proud smiles quietly replace nervous anticipation.

Today, Maxime was taking his new role very seriously —
mastering the gentle hold, the protective hand,
and the soft gaze every newborn deserves.

Because those first cuddles aren’t just special for baby…
they are the beginning of a beautiful bond between father and child.

Dads aren’t just spectators in the journey of parenthood —
they are protectors, comforters, nappy changers,
and very quickly… experts in baby snuggles. 🤍

And if you ask me,
every hospital should definitely have more Daddy Chairs.

Tag a dad who absolutely nailed his first baby cuddles. 👇

And just like that…
a whole new world began. ✨

A tiny boy.
A quiet room.
Two parents completely in love.

Meet baby Ezekiel Zoosi. 🤍
His name Ezekiel means “God strengthens.”
And in that moment, it felt so fitting —
because love, strength and hope filled the room the second he arrived.

Watching Esther and Ledem hold their son, their faces glowing with pride and wonder, was simply beautiful.

As an obstetrician, moments like this never lose their magic for me.
To witness the exact second a family grows,
to stand beside parents as they meet their baby for the first time —
it is always deeply humbling and incredibly special.

Thank you Esther and Ledem for trusting me with your pregnancy journey and the safe arrival of your precious boy.

Welcome to the world Ezekiel Zoosi.
You are already surrounded by so much love. 🤍

🌊✨ A Beautiful Arrival Inspired by the Sea ✨🌊
With hearts as full as the horizon, we are delighted to announce the arrival of Adrijana Louise 💙

Her beautiful name echoes the timeless beauty of the Adriatic Sea — strong, serene, and endlessly captivating. Just like the sea that inspires it, she brings with her a future of deepest joy and endless possibilities!

Congratulations to proud parents Emily and Christopher on welcoming their precious baby girl. It has been our absolute honor to be part of this incredible journey. Wishing them a future that is as radiant and boundless as her namesake🌊💕

A first cry…
then a hush as baby is placed on your chest — warm, searching, perfect. ✨

Tiny fingers stretch and curl around yours.
A heartbeat finds its rhythm against mum’s heart.
Dad leans in, eyes shining,
whispering hello to the love of his life.

In those first sacred seconds —
skin to skin, tear to tear —
the world fades, and a family is born.

As an obstetrician, it humbles me every single time.
To stand beside you in that sacred pause,
to witness the exact second you become parents —
it is never ordinary, never routine.

It is pure, overwhelming, heart-expanding magic. 🤍

✨ The Magic of Postnatal Midwives ✨

In the quiet hours after birth…
When the room is still, the baby is new,
and parents are holding both love and uncertainty in their hands —
this is where our postnatal midwives shine. 🤍

These beautiful moments captured with Tanya, one of our incredibly kind, knowledgeable and patient midwives, say it all.

Postnatal midwives are the steady hands and calm voices in those first precious days. They:

🌸 Monitor mum’s recovery — physically and emotionally
🌸 Support wound care, pain management & healing
🌸 Guide breastfeeding (positioning, latch, reassurance at 2am!)
🌸 Check baby’s feeding, weight, jaundice & wellbeing
🌸 Teach settling, swaddling & reading baby cues
🌸 Hold space for tears, questions, joy and overwhelm
🌸 Reassure new parents that they are doing better than they think

They don’t just “check observations.”
They nurture confidence.
They protect recovery.
They gently guide families into parenthood.

Tanya — thank you for the warmth, wisdom and compassion you bring to every family. You are part of their story forever. 💗

To all our postnatal midwives at North Shore Private and Mater Hospitals— you are the heartbeat of those first days.

If a midwife made a difference in your early days, tag them below or drop a 💕 to show them some love.

Because behind every confident new parent…
there was a midwife who quietly believed in them first. 🤍✨

✨ Welcoming Mina (美南) ✨
Some babies arrive carrying more than just tiny fingers and sleepy smiles…
They arrive carrying meaning, culture, and connection across oceans.
Natsumi and Daichi have welcomed their beautiful second daughter, Mina (美南) — a name so rich in heart and heritage. In Japanese, Mina means “beauty” (美) and “south” (南) — a symbol of warmth, light, and a place where people gather and feel safe.
How special that little Mina was born here in Australia, under the southern sun ☀️ — a bridge between Japan and Australia, between two homes, two cultures, one growing family.
From welcoming their first daughter in Japan to now holding their second baby girl in their arms here in Sydney, this journey has been one of courage, love and trust.

Natsumi, thank you for your beautiful words — for sharing that despite the stress of having a baby overseas, you felt calm, safe and supported. That means more than you know.

This is why we do what we do.
Families crossing borders.
Mothers finding strength.
Babies bringing the world closer together.

To the gorgeous big sister stepping into her new role… and to Mina, may you grow with warmth, kindness and connection — just as your name promises 🤍

Our practice family continues to grow, and we are so deeply grateful to care for families from all cultures and walks of life.

If you’re planning your pregnancy journey and looking for compassionate, personalised obstetric care in Sydney, we would love to support you too.

💛 Welcome to the world, Mina.

✨ The Unsung Hero of the Caesarean Theatre: The Midwife ✨
Today’s gorgeous moment features Maddie, one of our incredible theatre midwives, supporting Binati & Akshay as they welcomed their happy, healthy baby girl into the world 💗👶
So what exactly does a midwife do during a caesarean section?
Let’s lift the curtain 👇
🩺 Clinical & Theatre Roles
• Prepares mum for surgery and ensures comfort and dignity
• Acts as mum’s advocate inside the operating theatre
• Monitors mum’s wellbeing throughout the procedure
• Works seamlessly with obstetricians, anaesthetists & theatre staff
• Receives baby at birth and performs immediate newborn checks
• Ensures safe skin-to-skin and early bonding when possible
💞 The Emotional Superpower (the part you don’t see on the consent form)
• Holds hands, offers reassurance, and explains what’s happening in real time
• Calms nerves when anxiety peaks behind the sterile drapes
• Keeps mum connected to baby before baby is even born
• Celebrates that first cry, first breath, first moment
• Supports partners so they can be present, calm, and confident

✨ Welcome to the world, baby Malakai ✨

Tiny hands, big dreams, and a heart already so full of love 🤍
With mum Anushka and dad Franz learning on the go, growing together,
and discovering that parenthood isn’t about perfection — it’s about presence.

From first cuddles to sleepless nights,
from “are we doing this right?” to “we’ve got this” 💫
Watching this beautiful family step into parenthood has been pure joy.

So much love, so much learning, and a lifetime ahead —
Malakai, you are deeply loved, endlessly cherished, and already teaching your parents more than they ever imagined 🐻✨

✨ Born into love. Held by a village. ✨

Alex, Warwick, Lily and Maisie —
four hearts, one story, endlessly entwined.
Tiny hands, proud arms,
and a family standing right where love lives.

These moments were captured by Anika ,another beautiful mum from our practice —
someone we’ve also walked alongside through pregnancy and birth.
Because here, care doesn’t stop at delivery.
It ripples outward… mum to mum, family to family. 🌊

This is what happens when a practice becomes a community.
When births create more than babies.
When journeys overlap and friendships grow.

Our practice family keeps expanding —
and we absolutely adore every single one of you. 🤍
