Welcoming physio experience helping our community move, feel and live better with a focus on supported exercise and movement.
Advanced skills and expertise in women's and men's pelvic health, pregnancy and postnatal care. Established for nearly 20 years, we are proud to offer very high quality, evidence-informed physiotherapy care to our community. We have expertise in pelvic health with four Masters-level pelvic floor physiotherapists. Our practice principal, Tory, is currently training to be one of only 15 specialist Women's, Men's and Pelvic Health Specialist physiotherapists in Australia. We love to help women of all ages feel and move better whether that is through pregnancy, the postnatal period, teenage girls or older ladies with hip pain or bone health issues. Similarly, we specialise in helping men with challenges such as incontinence or sexual difficulties, to improve their confidence and overall function. We don't exclude the men at Vital Core and we love to help the guys manage their low back stiffness or sore shoulder so they can get back to enjoying life. We have years of experience helping runners managing injuries, training programs and specific strengthening plans, exemplified by our flagship exercise class, RunFit. Middle aged runners have a suite of different needs to most runners talked about in online articles, and women have different needs to men. We understand this, and have been participating in education around athleticism for decades. Rebecca is now studying for her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy at LaTrobe University to ensure we are completely up to date. Exercise is at the heart of Vital Core philosophy. We work with each and every patient to find an activity or movement that makes them feel and move better. Active management is the cornerstone of good quality physiotherapy and, while we use manual therapy to ease pain, we promote patient independence through exercise. We have a large, modern and well equipped gym and we run a range of exercise classes every week. We also have a Pilates studio for those people who prefer this style of exercise. So regardless of your issue, at Vital Core, we can help you feel and move better.

and are the two Adelaide women behind Vital Core Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health.
23 years ago these two took a punt on Adelaide town needing better access to women’s specific physiotherapy.
Between weddings, babies and renovations they worked to build something special. Against all the ‘noise’ of people who said they were being too ambitious, they grew a business and a name for excellent, evidence based physiotherapy.
Fast forward more than two decades later they are leaders in Women’s and Pelvic Health physiotherapy in Adelaide and indeed across the country. With multiple post-graduate degrees, certificates and qualifications between them and an absolutely first class physio and admin team supporting them, Tory and Beck continue to find new and innovative ways to support women in Adelaide and beyond to be healthier and more active through their lifespan.
Recently they had the privilege of attending the annual International Women’s Day lunch, where a room of no less than 400 of Adelaide’s wonderful female business community came together to support this essential foundation.
If you want genuine evidence-based physiotherapy in an empathetic space, we invite you to come see the team at Vital Core Physiotherapy and Pelvic Health.

Running through menopause - Part 3 - Side-stepping the injuries!
Constantly listening to your body and adjusting your training is key to preventing injuries at any stage of life - but more so during perimenopause.
At this stage of life your body can be super sensitive to any change in physical or mental stress. Learning to read the warning signs can be really helpful in avoiding injuries or illness.
If you start to develop a pattern of a bit of extra 'soreness' or increased fatigue, irritibility, change in appetite, a sudden change in weight or body composition, or further changes to sleep (who thought that was possible at this age???). These can all be signs that you are over doing it - despite what your physical training looks like.
If you need help. Please come talk to us at Vital Core Physio.

WHY STRENGTH AND STRUCTURE MATTER TO THE PERIMENOPAUSAL RUNNER!💪🏃🏋🏻♀️
(sorry everyone, this didn't load properly yesterday...)
Midlife runners don’t need to push harder - they need better structure.
Strength training becomes essential as Oestrogen declines in perimenopause. Strength training supports tendons, bones, and resilience in ways running alone can’t.
Proper periodisation matters. Progress comes from the right stress at the right time followed by enough recovery for the body to adapt.
More isn’t better. Smarter is.

🤷♀️WHY IS RUNNING FEELING HARDER?!🏃🏽♀️
If you’re a woman in your 40s or 50s who loves running but feels like your body isn’t keeping up - this matters.
In perimenopause, Oestrogen and other hormones change. That affects recovery, energy, sleep, and how tendons and bones handle load.
Add a full life on top and the same training just doesn’t work the same way.
You’re not broken.
Your training just needs to fit you!
Stay tuned for a couple of tips and tricks over the next few days.

📢 Sciatica – Acute Phase Relief Tips
Let's talk sciatica. (Fun etymology fact from Thomas: it comes from the Greek ischion, meaning hip joint, and refers to that long, important nerve running from your lower back, through your hip, and down into your foot.)
Because it's such a thick, important nerve, it's common for it to get irritated. You might feel sharp, burning, or radiating pain down your leg. The good news? There are ways to calm it in the short term:
🛋 Find positions that feel comfortable: Lying down or gentle walking — whatever feels best, stick with it for short periods.
🚶 Avoid prolonged sitting: Low, soft chairs can compress the nerve. Short walks or standing breaks can help.
🔥 Use hea: tA warm shower or heat pack can provide temporary relief.
💨 Calm your systemNerves and stress are linked — try breathing, meditation, or other relaxation techniques.
At Vital Core, we provide thorough assessments, help you find positions of comfort, teach exercises, and create a management strategy to get you through the acute phase safely.
