A huge thank you to the Men’s Longest Lunch Committee 🙌

Yesterday we were proud to receive an incredible $25,000 donation following the success of the 2026 event 💙

Over the past 11 years, this amazing community initiative has raised more than $200,000 for KDHS 👏 making a real difference to local healthcare and men’s health in our region.

This year’s funds will go towards important equipment like a new macerator and Day Procedure Unit chairs, helping improve patient safety, comfort and care 🏥✨

We are so grateful for the ongoing support, generosity and community spirit shown by everyone involved. Thank you for helping us continue to provide high-quality care for our community 🙏

On Thursday 19 March 2026, Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) will recognise National Close the Gap Day, a national day of action focused on achieving health equality for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
This year’s theme, “Community Voices: The Pathway to Justice, Equality and Healing,” highlights the importance of listening to and learning from First Nations communities to improve health outcomes.
At KDHS, we are committed to helping close the gap by providing culturally safe care, strengthening partnerships with local Aboriginal organisations, and supporting health initiatives that meet the needs of First Nations people in our community.
We are also working to strengthen our relationships with the Local Aboriginal Community, local ACCOs and Traditional Owner Groups to improve access to care, build cultural understanding, and support better health outcomes.
Closing the Gap takes collaboration, respect and action. KDHS is proud to stand alongside our community and partners as we continue working toward a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples experience the same health opportunities and outcomes as all Australians.

About the workshop
Come along and help shape how the Attract Connect Stay program can work in Stanhope. Communities play an important role in helping new healthcare professionals and their families settle into rural areas. When people feel connected and supported, they are more likely to stay – helping stabilise our local workforce, reduce waitlists and improve health outcomes for our community.

This practical session is for community members and Ky Health staff to explore how we can best welcome and connect new arrivals into our community.

💙 Accessing Mental Health Support in Kyabram

Following community feedback, we’d like to share information about how to access mental health support in Kyabram through KDHS Social Work & Counselling and MIND Australia.

KDHS Social Work & Counselling provide regular counselling services at the hospital. Anyone can complete a self-referral form via the KDHS website:
https://www.kyhealth.org.au/departments-services/social-worker/

✔️ There is no cost to access this service.

Where appropriate, KDHS Social Work & Counselling may seek your consent to refer you to MIND Australia, a community mental health provider that offers government-funded support programs.

Walk-In Support – Tuesdays
A MIND Australia walk-in service operates at KDHS on Tuesdays. When attending, patients will first meet with a Lived Experience Worker / Peer Practitioner, who can listen, provide support, and help determine the most appropriate next steps.

Please note that, like many mental health services across Victoria, there is currently an extensive wait list for ongoing support.

Stanhope Health – Increased Services 👩‍⚕️🏥

Great news for Stanhope and district! Stanhope Health is trialling extended administration hours from Monday 2 February to 30 June 2026, making it easier for the community to access services.

New opening hours:
• Monday: 8.30am–5.00pm
• Tuesday: 8.30am–4.00pm
• Wednesday: 8.30am–4.00pm
• Thursday: 8.30am–5.00pm
• Friday: 8.30am–5.00pm
(Closed public holidays)

Based on community feedback, Kyabram District Health Service is also recruiting additional health professionals, including community nursing and social work, to provide more coordinated care closer to home.

This trial is supported by Australian Government funding through Murray PHN and aims to improve access to primary healthcare and GP services in Stanhope.

Looking after your sexual and reproductive health is an important part of overall wellbeing, and support is available close to home.

Our Sexual Health Clinic offers free, safe, and confidential appointments for people of all ages, with access to a wide range of services, including:
• Cervical screening (clinician-led or self-collect)
• Free condoms
• STI testing and treatment
• Contraception support and referrals
• Pregnancy testing and unplanned pregnancy support
• Perimenopause and menopause assessment and support
• Menstruation concerns
• Age-appropriate health checks
• Cancer screening information
