This month we'd like to introduce you to our fantastic Digital Marketing Rep and Funeral Director - Jessie!

Jessie is a dedicated professional with a number of years of experience in the funeral industry. Prior to this, Jessie studied and worked in film production, which has given them a unique perspective on storytelling and the importance of creating meaningful experiences.

Driven by a passion for education, they transitioned into the funeral industry with a strong desire to guide families through difficult times and become an advocate for alternative funeral practices, especially natural burials.

Outside of work, Jessie is a skilled musician who is actively involved in the local theatre and drag scene, bringing their creative passion to the community. Jessie is currently studying for a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, and was recently appointed as a Justice of the Peace (Qualified) in QLD. On top of this, Jessie currently handles Digital Marketing across QLD.

Sou Sdey Bon Pchum Ben to our wonderful Cambodian community, who so kindly welcomed Carlo, Jessie, Dom and Harry to today's Ancestor's Day celebrations at the Khmer Buddhist Society, Marsden.

Getting the opportunity to share in the cultures of the community we dedicate ourselves to is truly a privilege, as it has also been a privilege to be involved in the respectful care of the Late Holiness the Venerable Choum Vanna who sadly passed away earlier this year.

Thank you to the Khmer Buddhist Society again, and may we all continue to be guided by the wisdom of our ancestors!

Erika is a highly experienced Mortician with 17 years in the funeral industry. Known for her deep empathy, bubbly personality, and perfectionist approach, Erika connects with families in a meaningful way, helping them spend their final moments with their loved ones in peace and comfort.

Outside of her professional life, Erika has a passion for photography, travel, and exploring Gothic and Medieval architecture. She enjoys staying active, whether it’s hitting the gym or going on motorbike rides with her family and loves spending time with her pets , she is an avid collector of snow globes.

Newhaven Funerals S.E.Q. is exclusively owned by the Connolly Family. We have conducted professional funeral services in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Mackay since 1979. The Connolly family and staff have helped tens of thousands of families to deal with their grief and are adequately equipped for any request. The Connolly family also operates Crematoriums, a Pet Cremation business, memorial gardens and provides a vessel for scattering ashes at sea, whale watching and bridal transfers.
