It is done. But not without tears I must confess. My last day of clinical practice and adequate words cannot be found, at least today , for the amazing experience over 41 years that my physio career has afforded me. It has been an honour particularly over the last 24 years as a specialist lymphoedema therapist , educator , researcher and clinic owner to assist with the rehab and restoration of peoples physical and mental states following a cancer diagnosis. I have been constantly reminded of the strength, fragility and resilience of the human spirit and the power of compassionate words and kindness . May I never forget those lessons in retirement as I write my next lifes chapter . Lymphoedema and Laser Therapy - thanks for the crazy , wild ride.

Our Bio Compression arm sleeve can be made with customised sizing for paediatric or very large sizing. The smaller air chamber segments provide more defined clearance.

Today on we're drawing focus to breast cancer-related lymphoedema (BCRL).

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among women in Australia, with BCRL occurring in about 20 per cent of patients who have undergone axillary lymph node dissection and in five per cent of patients after sentinel node biopsy. BCRL causes considerable physical and psychological morbidity.

In her Journal of Physiotherapy Invited Topical Review, Associate Professor Elizabeth Dylke explains what BCRL is and addresses the complexities involved in its measurement.
