We are delighted to announce that Maryanne Georges, our Education Coordinator, has been named the winner of the Innovation and Excellence Award as part of the National Ramsay Way Awards 2025.

Maryanne’s leadership of the Ninety Second Check has transformed the way perioperative teams work at Strathfield and across Ramsay. She saw an opportunity to strengthen teamwork and patient safety and turned it into a simple, powerful process that gives nurses protected time to verify critical documentation together. Through education, guidance and genuine collaboration, Maryanne helped teams embrace the change and saw incidents fall from weekly occurrences to only a few each year.

We also congratulate Debra Maslen and Maree Nawer from Tamara Private Hospital and Dalia Moreno Medina from Ramsay Clinic Northside this year’s runners up in the Innovation and Excellence category.

This recognition speaks to the impact Maryanne has created for both her colleagues and our patients. Congratulations, Maryanne. We are very proud of you.

On 25 April, we pause to honour ANZAC Day—a national day of remembrance that marks the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli in 1915 and pays tribute to all Australians and New Zealanders who have served—and continue to serve—in times of war, conflict, and peacekeeping.

ANZAC Day is a powerful reminder of the courage, resilience, and sacrifice of those who came before us. It’s also a time to reflect on the values they upheld—mateship, endurance, and compassion—which continue to shape our communities today.
