She has been a Funeral Director for 5 years. Before moving into this industry, she was a manager in the retail sector.

She wanted to become an arranger after helping arrange her husband’s Oma’s funeral. The ladies who supported the family were so professional and caring, and that experience inspired her to join the industry.

What she loves about being a funeral arranger is being there for families at their hardest and most vulnerable time — whether it’s simply listening, offering a hug, or helping them smile.

When asked what’s one thing people don’t know about her, she shares that her guilty pleasure is cream cakes. She and her family have three toy poodles: Rex, Polly, and Marley, and she loves to travel, especially to Asian countries, where the different cultures are so interesting.

Ashleigh has been in the industry just over 3 years now. She felt drawn to the industry after Mareena Purslowe took care of her grandma’s funeral in 2005. She knew she wanted to return the compassion and care shown to her family during a difficult time and be part of a respectful and unique brand.

She likes ensuring all family members involved are acknowledged and heard during the arrangement process. She also likes creating a bespoke and personalised service for each family, to really reflect the life that was lived.

She loves to get out horse riding, it’s a good way to clear the head and process the week. At family gatherings she likes to make unusual and challenging deserts for a bit of fun!

One of her favourite things about being a funeral director is connecting with such a wide variety of people, learning about all the beautiful cultures and religions in her city, and seeing so many different walks of life. She also love hearing stories from families about the lives of their loved ones.
