+ NO NEW YEAR / NEW YOU BS HERE +
I hope everyone has enjoyed doing whatever their body needed over the past two weeks with Christmas festivities and New Year celebrations.

As we kick off a New Year, most of you have been likely bombarded with “make your new year resolutions” and “New Year / New You” bu****it.

I recommend ignoring those messages.

Why?

Because a resolution means to resolve a problem and “new you” suggests the problem is YOU. 

Which the problem isn’t you!

The problem is in a world of so much misinformation and a diet industry that is worth over $297 billion with an 85% failure rate...

The problem is A LOT of people in the health and fitness industry only want your money and do not care for your health, happiness or longevity. 

So my TOP recommendation this year is to QUIT NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS and on top of that, to quit DIETS as well.

What to do instead?

📝Set an intention or a word.

Intentions or a specific word allow you to alignwith the best version of yourself. 

It allows you to ebb and flow and be flexible with whatever the world throws at you this year BUT still being able to feel like you can succeed. 

Instead of thinking about all the ways you “failed” last year to stick to your healthy habits or achieve your goals…

Think of who you want to be!

Do you want to be:
❓Healthier?
❓More organised?
❓Stronger?
❓More positive?
❓Confident?

After you’ve set your intention then it’s time to set actionable steps (goals) that align with your intention and help you become the best version of yourself.

Then take it one step at a time!!

Remember you don’t need a total overhaul, you don’t need a quick fix or a detox.
Sustainable habits that feel achievable is going to set you up for the best results overtime.
This isn’t setting you up so you have to repeat this cycle EVERY YEAR and spend more money on programs and products (like most of the health industry recommends).

My final post for 2025…
I wanted to wish each and every one of you a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a SAFE + HAPPY NEW YEAR 🎄❤️🥳

May this time of year allow space for what your body needs, whether it’s:
❤️ rest
❤️ socialising
❤️ adventure
❤️ an empty to do list
❤️ sunshine
❤️ sleep ins
❤️ a well deserved break

I am so GRATEFUL for the support and I can’t wait to continue helping more women feel strong, confident and empowered in their bodies.

Remember during this festive season (and always):
👉 Food is more than just nourishment - it’s for celebration, joy and bringing people together so don’t feel guilty for eating food. Food for your soul is just as important as food for the body ❤️

👉 It’s absolutely OK to set boundaries and protect your energy - even if it’s against your family / societies typical way

👉 You don’t need to become a “new you” and you definitely don’t have to start a new diet come January 1st

+ ENJOY THE FESTIVITIES… GUILT FREE +
It’s Christmas time and I want to give you a reminder to enjoy EVERYTHING that your hearts desire…
🎄The time off, sunshine and slowing down
🎄Being surrounded by family/friends or extra time on your own
🎄The food!

This time of year many of you will feel “tempted” to eat all the foods:
🍫 Chocolates
🍰 Every dessert on the table
🥘 Four course meals

You may feel “guilty” if you eat them or drive yourself crazy trying to “avoid” them but as a nutritionist I RECOMMEND you enjoy those foods... guilt free.

The health implications of having an unhealthy relationship with food outweighs the health risks of indulging occasionally with foods that society or yourself has labeled “bad”.

When it comes to food it is all about creating a balance between what your body needs and what your body wants. I like to explain this in my Crush Sugar Cravings course as
🥗80-90% of the time eat foods that are good for the body
🍩10-20% of the time eat foods that are good for the soul

To help stop feeling guilty about foods, think of FOOD AS FUEL not as a weight loss tool.

We need food to function.
We feel better when we eat foods that nourish the body.
We feel happier when we eat foods that nourish the soul.

Another tip to reduce the “guilt” feeling is to TRY not go overboard.

Allow yourself to fill up the plate with proteins, fats and fibre.

Eat slowly and savor every mouthful.

Then after course 1 register how you feel…
- If you feel like there’s a bit more room, have a little more.
- If your stuffed but are really craving that pavlova, serve up a little slice or wait a little longer or ask for it in a take home container (who doesn’t love Christmas leftovers the next day).

Eating huge portions beyond your body’s limit will lead you to feel sick and bring up unhappy thoughts about your willpower, your body and your weight.

And if you do over do it (especially if you have been restricting yourself)… don’t feel guilty!

Move on and get back to BALANCING your foods as soon as you can ❤️

🌟 Personal 🌟
Every year at MumSafeTM, us trainers choose a word for the year and my one this year was AMPLIFY.

I wanted to:

🔈AMPLIFY my impact in the community.

🔈AMPLIFY my voice in the fitness and health industry.

🔈AMPLIFY my voice at home with setting boundaries and getting my needs met.

And I did - in ways I couldn’t even imagine.

I AMPLIFIED by:

⭐Being an AusActive PT of the Year finalist & Small Business Finalist

⭐Launching my own podcast (wasn’t on my bingo card) and featured in other podcasts in the fitness industry

⭐ Having my first TWO public speaking gigs and I loved it and want more of it in 2026

⭐ Committing to my weekly DANCE (Hip Hop then Pole Flow) class that saved my sanity, met my needs and increased my energy

⭐ Hosting a FLASHMOB with 20+ Sunbury locals and over 200 women across Australia for

I also celebrated:
🤩 3 years in the business
🤩 Attending Sunbury’s Baby Expo
🤩 Adventures with the family
🤩 Won another netball grand final

I also overcome some challenges with:

- navigating a big loss in the family

- struggling to crack into the online program world

- losing my voice when I was scheduled to public speak

- being the most sleep deprived I’ve been since the newborn days

- the continuous push and pull between work / life / motherhood

Overall, I’m proud of what I achieved and my vision for 2026 is A LOT different to where I imagined I wanted to be BUT I’m excited to help MORE AND MORE WOMEN in this world!

🌟 Monthly Challenges 🌟
At the start of the year I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t procrastinate - if I had an idea and need to organise stuff for it I’d do it right then and there.

Because of that I was able to run all the exciting monthly challenges I always envisioned!

I love running these challengers to help my members:
🤩try something new
🤩 make (or break) new habits
🤩 improve in ALL areas of health

This year, my members were challenged with:
💪 Increasing their cardio fitness
💪 Helping hormones
💪 Improve gut health
💪 Getting comfortable being uncomfortable (my Favourite one!)
💪 B+BB triathlon
💪 Embracing their feminine flow
💪 Breaking A Habit

Big shout out to all my members for giving everything I throw at you a go and I hope you’ve enjoyed the different challenges and events that you might not typically do.

Also big shoutout to all the Member of the Months for putting in the extra work and completing all tasks of each challenge.

+ REFLECTIONS PART 1 +
🌟 Small Group PT Sessions 🌟
As we enter the final week of classes for 2025 At B+BB I’m in reflection mode, reflecting on an incredible year in our signature small group PT sessions.

This year was a sell-out with 3 out of 4 terms being FULLY BOOKED and one term with only 1 spot up for grabs - it was amazing to see the classes full with regulars as well as fresh faces joining our community.

The biggest congratulations to all my members for the CONSISTENCY they’ve displayed this year.

Didn’t matter if it was:
🔥 Hot or cold
😴 No sleep thanks to kids or perimenopause
😩 A stressful morning trying to get out of the house or the end of a crazy day at work
🗓️ A few sessions in between last visit
🤧 After a nasty bug
🦵 Returning after an injury

Everyone stayed consistent and kept coming in which lead to them being further along in their health and fitness journey - rather than throwing in the towel!

Through this consistency, we hit some major milestones in the studio:
⭐️ had to install a squat rack to keep up with the heavy weights being lifted
⭐️ new fitness test records - 4 minute plank, 100kg+ squats, 23 burpees in a minute to name a few
⭐️ full classes all doing push ups on toes!
⭐️ Full Restore classes doing star JUMPS with no leaks
⭐️ The hardest punches - even my neighbours could hear

I’m so proud of all my members and their achievements (see a few in the photos) no matter how big or small they were 💪

I love being a part of everyone’s fitness journey, I love seeing how much they improve and I thank each and every one of them for supporting my business and making it the easiest / most rewarding job in the world! 😍

With most members returning next year I CANNOT WAIT to see the new heights we reach in our little Studio but big community 🤩
