🌸 Ultimate Girls Weekend bohemiansummerfestival
Feb 27th - 1st of March

This will be my first year as a guest at this 3 day festival designed for women coming together to offer their time, their life’s work and their valued presence.

It’s up the road in Lancefield and is filled with over 80 workshops, women’s circles, dance, yoga, meditation, live entertainment, paint and sip + other crafts.

I’ll also be bringing our In Her Skin photoshoot to 100’s of women as well running a Dance Fitness Party to get everyone pumped for the final day.

+ B+BB 4TH BIRTHDAY +
Celebrating 4 years of Beautiful + Balanced Bodies 🥳

It was actually on Saturday but I forgot - life of a small business owner who is balancing mum life 😅

And no big celebration here as my business birthday always falls in between my daughter’s birthday, first week back of term and trial weeks so my cup is empty!!

So instead I’m celebrating (and sharing) with 4 donuts 🍩

But I wanted to take this time to THANK each and everyone of you for supporting me over the past 4 years and today 🫶

It’s not easy running your own business.

I wear a lot of hats.
I work way too many non paid hours.
I feel like I’m constantly juggling.
Feeling guilty for not doing enough in all aspects of life.

But 4 years on, I’m still loving it!

I’m still passionate to help as many women as possible with their health and fitness.

I still love rocking up to work everyday.

I still think it’s the most rewarding job.

And I feel so grateful to help so many women at some point on their health and fitness journey.

So as I reflect on these past 4 years, my heart is filled with gratitude and love to everyone who has helped me in the process and supported me and my dream 🥰

Year 4 is shaping up to be our biggest year yet - to the point where I’m thinking is year 5 the year I open a commercial studio? 🤔😅

I can’t wait to see how B+BB evolves this year and beyond.

+ HOW TO WORK SMARTER, NOT HARDER? +
For years, women were told to burn more, sweat more, do more.

And now?

You’re exhausted, inflamed, and wondering why your body isn’t responding the way it used to.

More cardio isn’t the answer.
More restriction isn’t the answer.
More punishment definitely isn’t the answer.

A responsive metabolism is built through:
• Daily movement you can sustain
• Progressive strength training
• Smart cardiovascular work
• Recovery that supports your hormones, not stresses them

And with all the information out there confusing everyone, the BEST thing you can do to move your body (research backed) is…

MOVE MORE
IN THE WAY YOU ENJOY MOVING THE MOST

That’s the bottom line.

Just move.
In a way that feels good.

That’s how you get started.

Then to soak up all the benefits of exercise for your health, metabolism, longevity and mood, try including:

💪 More NEAT movement
Park further away, take the stairs instead of the elevator, less sitting more moving.

💪 2-3x strength training sessions
They don’t have to be big gym sessions.
Choose a weight where you can get to 6-8 reps but the last 2 reps are a struggle. Repeat 2-3x
Focus on compound movements like squats, lunges, deadlifts, hip thrusts, rows, push ups, presses.
Progressively overtime make the move harder (heavier, more powerful, change the tempo)

💪 Get the heart pumping
Run, Skip, swim, cycle… go for endurance with zone 2 training then once a week go for gold with SIT training.
20-30 seconds of your hardest effort - sprint, jump, kettlebell swing, ball slam, skip. Choose the impact style that works for you.
Then rest for 2 minutes before you do it all again 4-5x
15 minutes and you’ve got yourself an endorphin hit, heart healthy workout.
