+ YOU DON’T NEED TO EARN YOUR CHOCOLATES +
An Easter reminder… To enjoy EVERYTHING!

Enjoy the fun with the kids, enjoy the sweets, enjoy the time off, enjoy doing nothing for 4 days or going on an adventure, whatever you feel like doing.

This time of year many of you will feel “tempted” to eat the chocolates + the hot cross buns and you may feel “guilty” if you eat them or drive yourself crazy trying to “avoid” them.

But as a nutritionist I highly recommend you enjoy those foods... guilt free.

The health implications of having an unhealthy relationship with food (guilt or restriction) outweighs the health risks of indulging occasionally with foods that society or yourself has labeled “bad”.

At the moment I am constantly seeing “how many burpees you need to do to burn 1x Easter egg” or “how many calories there are in different Easter chocolates”.

Food is more than a numerical value and should be there not only to nourish your body but also your soul! ❤️

In saying that, if you do go overboard and eat way too much, you might end up feeling very sick and lethargic, especially the next day.

To help not go overboard, my top tips:
🚫Don’t restrict and try not to feel guilty about eating Easter treats - the more you restrict yourself, the more you will crave that food and when you finally allow yourself to have it you’ll go overboard because of the fear you aren’t “allowed” to have it again.

🍳Eat a high protein breakfast - this will help regulate your blood sugar levels reducing those sugar cravings and afternoon energy dips.

🍛 Eat your sweets after a meal - again, the blood sugar levels will stay more balanced ensuring your energy stays consistent with a lower blood sugar spike then eating the Easter foods on their own.

If you do go overboard, don’t dwell on it! Accept it and move on as quickly as possible. You might move on by literally moving… movement + walking is a great way to use that sugar as energy.

Or opt for more of a balance between whole + real foods and treats the next day.

Enjoy the festivities, try beat all the kids at the Easter Egg Hunt and spend this weekend filling up your cup! 🐰🍫

Why do people promote before VS after photos?

Because most programs prey on insecurities and promise to change how you look…

And that very much could happen in 12 Weeks but most programs that promote weight loss and before / after pictures ONLY care about “weight loss”.

They don’t care about your:
✋ energy
✋ longevity
✋ mental health
✋ overall health
✋hormones
✋real life schedule

They just care about losing kgs on the scale in that 12 weeks so they can say they’ve done a good program and “hey buy my program”.

Then you’re on your own.
Not able to sustain it.
Feeling like a failure.

Now it would be easier to promote my upcoming 12 Week Metabolism Maximiser with a Before & After shot - but my program is not about that all (and I’ve never taken pictures of my members ever).

Do we focus on weight loss?

Yes - to an extent as metabolism is highly linked to weight loss.

But it’s not the MAIN or ONLY factor!

There are going to be a few M.o.M posts over the next week because the winners merch finally arrived!

First up - a big congratulations to Felicity 👏🎉

Felicity received the special Honour for her commitment to Breaking Her Habit back in last year’s October challenge but she also received the nomination for always giving everything a go in class, staying consistent and achieving things she never thought she could ever achieve 💪

Her consistency and achievements have continued to grow, now doing 2x sessions a week and this week hitting a new PB for her push ups on toes and deadlifting 40kg’s!

Can’t wait to see what you achieve next 🤩

I asked Felicity some questions this week about her B+BB journey…

🌟 What made you sign up to B+BB?
After my Mother-in-law fell and broke her hip, she became bedridden because she lacked strength and it was a real wake up call that I needed to stop being such a couch potato. I realised I would need help with the proper technique for weight lifting and so just an online class wouldn’t be enough and I also didn’t just want to go to the gym by myself. Beautiful + Balanced Bodies being small, local groups for women was the perfect solution.

🌟 What are you current health and fitness goals? It’s really about building up my strength and getting fitter in general.

🌟 My greatest achievement since joining is a tough one because when I joined I didn’t think I could even lift tiny pink weights or even do one push up. By the end of last year I did a full class on a hot summer day combining strength and aerobics which included push ups (I can now do 7 on my toes) and much heavier weights.

🌟 What is your favourite class type?
I actually love the variety in the classes and how much Toni mixes things up. This is like trying to pick your favourite child!

🌟 What has been your biggest challenge?
Making the time for classes in my hectic schedule. Last year I could only manage one class a week, this year I have been able to commit to two classes, which is great.

🌟 What do you love about Beautiful + Balanced Bodies?
That Toni is so encouraging but also pushes me to work my hardest (I couldn’t push myself as much). Everyone is very accepting of all of the different levels of fitness and ability, it is a very safe space. Toni also really goes above and beyond with monthly challenges and extra information to help and support our health journeys.

+ JUST KEEP SPINNING +
So good to be back on the bike for our BIKE SECTION of this months challenge “The B+BB Triathlon” 🚲

Last night at - we jumped / sprinted / hovered and climbed to great female empowerment songs.

🔥 It was sweaty.
🔥 It was tough.
🔥 It was a very aerobic challenge.

But we survived and EVERYONE said they felt better for it and recovered quickly 👈 this is a sign everyone has greatly improved their aerobic fitness!

Well done to all these legends for giving it a go 👏👏

We had a couple who have never done spin, some who haven’t done it for over a decade and a few that loved/hated it so much last time they were back for more.

I hope your bottoms aren’t too sore today and you enjoyed the total sweatfest 🥵 I sure miss sweating like that every week.

Bring on our last event - the swim event - with water aerobics next week 🌊

This is how all women should feel in this world 💫

It was another incredible experience bringing this to the women of with by my side helping these women feel supported, welcomed and more comfortable in their skin 💖

Big thank you to Julz .portraiturebyjulz who reached out to me after seeing our photoshoot and wanted to bring this to more women. Thank you for capturing the beauty and making everyone feel so comfortable in front of the camera 🤩

To all the women who joined us - THANK YOU for:
💫 bringing this vision to life
💫 making everyone feel welcomed and embraced
💫 celebrating YOU and your body
💫 inspiring other women to be more accepting of their bodies
💫 joining in the fun and doing whatever we threw at you (including the best part - the googly eyes 👀)

Some of you were SUPER COMFY stripping off before the warm up, dropping the sexiest dance moves and ripping the bra off as soon as you had the chance 👏👏👏 - we love a confident & comfortable woman!

Some of you weren’t sure what you were getting yourself into but embraced getting comfortable being uncomfortable and I hope you left feeling more confident and accepting of beautiful self 💖

And for those of you viewing these photos saying you could never do that but in awe of the women who did - this is WHY I’d love to do these photos with every women in this world because the feeling you get when you are surrounded by women of all shapes, sizes, ages and life stories is like no other.

You don’t feel like you need to hide.
You don’t feel like you have to suck in, morph or change your shape.
You don’t feel like you don’t belong.
You don’t feel judged.
You don’t even feel like you are in your underwear.

You feel comfortable, fully embraced and accepted for exactly who you are 🩷

As I said in my opening speech, you shouldn’t have to be “brave” to do this, it should be a NORMAL, comfortable experience for everyone and I hope one day in society, this is the norm.

Until then, I’ll continue to do as many photo shoots I need to until every women can feel that way - who’s in for the next one?!?!

+ SUNFEST COLOUR RUN 2026 +
What a bright, fun filled morning at annual Colour Run 🌈 🥳

It’s my honour to take the warm up for my fourth year and get everyone pumped up, warmed up and excited for the funnest run ever!

It was a day of CELEBRATION (hence the warm up song). We celebrated 50 years of Sunfest, good weather compared to last year and moving our bodies as a community 🎉

Proud of my B+BB members for taking the course for our “run event” of this months challenge our triathlon - well done everyone 👏 👏

And super proud of all the little ones who joined in this year - including my two - it was so good to see so many young ones join in and enjoy moving their body in a fun + colourful way 🏅

The biggest shout out to all the SunFest volunteers who work so hard all year round to make sure this event goes ahead each and every year. Thank you for all your effort, time and dedication you put in to bring this to the Sunbury community- we are so lucky and grateful 👏 👏
