Recently, we had an experienced Workcover OT join us to shadow Georgie and explore the world of DVA and Aged Care. Georgie didn't just show her the ropes; she absolutely shone, representing the very best of community OT and SSRG.

For OT Week, we're demystifying the profession! We asked Tiana, Marnie, Gabi, and Georgie to share what OT is all about and the one thing they wish more people knew.

Spoiler: It's so much more than just prescribing wheelchairs!

OT is client-centred, goal-focused, and all about finding unique, individualised solutions to help people participate in the activities that matter most to them. As Marnie says, it's "therapy for living."

Celebrating Lionel's incredible dedication! 🎉 Our Physiotherapist, Kirstie, has been working with Lionel for almost two years, and they've recently started "floor practice" in their weekly sessions.

This vital exercise helps Lionel improve his confidence and ability to get up safely after a fall, which is so important as he lives alone. Despite the challenge, Lionel always tackles these sessions with a smile. It's this determination that truly inspires us!

Earlier this year Adrianne attended a workshop on Oedema management, and last Wednesday skilfully summarised the 2-day workshop into a 1hr CPD session for the OT, PT and EP teams. We all gained valuable insights into identifying, assessing, and managing oedema.

Meet Eunice, a true inspiration at 91! 🌟 Our Physiotherapist, Kole, has the pleasure of working with Eunice, who is absolutely smashing her rehab goals.

Eunice admits she struggles with motivation, but with Kole's gentle encouragement, she's always up for a challenge. She consistently surprises herself by accomplishing things she never thought possible.
