🎉💖 What an incredible morning! We were so honoured to attend a wonderful fundraiser organised by Susie to support the Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program at Goodlife Community Centre.

Thanks to Susie’s dedication and the generosity of the community, they raised over $8,000 to help us support people on the Sunshine Coast facing breast cancer. Every dollar will go directly toward providing essential financial support and resources to those who need it most.

💖 As National Breast Cancer Month is coming to a close, we want to acknowledge that this time can be challenging for some of our patients, survivors, and their loved ones. It’s okay to feel a mix of emotions—hope, strength, and sometimes vulnerability.

We are so grateful for our incredible community, whose support helps us make a real difference every single day. From donations to volunteering, and simply spreading awareness, every act of kindness reminds our patients that they are not alone. Together, we continue to create a network of care, love, and hope. 💗

🌸 What an incredible show of community spirit! 🌸

A huge thank you to the amazing Dragons Abreast Sunshine Coast team for hosting such a beautiful Breast Cancer Fundraising Morning Tea last Sunday. 💕

It was a day filled with generosity, laughter, and love — and thanks to their incredible efforts (and loads of delicious treats!), they raised over $4,000 to support both our Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program and their team members heading to the IBCBC International Breast Cancer Regatta in France in 2026.

We’re so grateful for their ongoing support and the heartfelt way they champion local women living with breast cancer. 💗

“There are no silly questions and I think that’s part of where we play a very important role. No matter what surgery someone is having, it’s normal to feel nervous and I aim to provide a lot of reassurance.”

Today, we’re excited to introduce you to Buderim breast care nurse, Karen.

Karen is a registered nurse who has been part of our surgical ward team at Buderim Private Hospital for the past 18 years. More recently, Karen completed a post-graduate certificate in breast cancer nursing through a scholarship made possible by the support of our Hospital Auxiliary, and now as breast care nurse, provides dedicated and compassionate care for patients undergoing treatment for breast cancer.

Karen's journey into breast care nursing is deeply personal, and she is committed to offering support and reassurance to patients, as well as a familiar face, at every stage of their treatment.

As we are in the final fortnight of National Breast Cancer Month, we’re reminded of the real and lasting impact the support from YOU, the Sunshine Coast community has on local people facing breast cancer.

We recently received this heartfelt message from one of our clients, whose words capture exactly why the Buderim Private Hospital Cindy Mackenzie Breast Cancer Program exists:
