Are You at Higher Risk for Dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Many people don’t realise that your genetics can influence your risk, but they don’t write your destiny.

🧬 APOE Gene Test (Blood Test)
This simple blood test looks at your APOE gene type.
Some variants (like APOE4) are linked to a higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. Others may offer some protection (E2/E2).

Having a higher-risk gene doesn’t mean you will develop dementia. It simply means your lifestyle matters even more.

🧠 Brain MRI (Non-Invasive Imaging)
Advanced brain imaging can detect early structural changes or amyloid plaque buildup before symptoms appear.

Early awareness gives you time to:
✔ Improve metabolic health
✔ Reduce inflammation
✔ Optimise sleep
✔ Strengthen brain resilience
✔ Support cognitive function long-term.

Genes load the gun. Lifestyle pulls the trigger.

If you’d like to understand your personal risk and what proactive steps you can take, reach out.

Whilst touring the Sunshine Coast Libraries I have encountered the most beautiful interactions and connections with our local community. John, one of the Caloundra attendees, replied to my Email about his grip-strength result with this wonderful not. This is my WHY, ladies and gentlemen! Encouraging people to be pro-active about their health, no matter what age you are.

Today, I have encouraged a beautiful woman to start jumping, to support her bone health. To drink water first thing in the morning and to start walking was another ones choice! That's how you plant your first seed. Just one achievable thing towards longevity. When you know your why, I believe it makes it easier to follow through.

What have you started just recently?

Love,

When I mention brain rejuvenation at my vitality talks, everyone is all ears! I am sharing 3 engaging exercises with the community. Everyone can do them and we can get better with practise. No matter what age!

Your brain loves challenges, because challenge builds new wiring.

Every time you practise something slightly difficult, you stimulate neuroplasticity (your brain’s ability to form new pathways). That means better memory, sharper focus, stronger coordination, and more resilience as you age.

Train your brain with:

👉 Fine motor skills (like handwriting)
Why? Precise movements activate large brain areas and improve memory.

👉 Hand–eye coordination (bouncing, juggling, catching)
Why? Both brain hemispheres fire together — boosting focus and reaction time.

👉 Heel–toe tapping
Why? Cross-pattern movement strengthens communication between left and right brain.

Easy doesn’t grow your brain. Effort does.

Which one are you practising?

Today was my first workshop for with the Vitality Checks. Of course I was stressed, I was also very excited and nervous. I secretly did some beathwork whilst I waited for everyone to arrive.

One of the excersise I am mentioning in my workshop to calm our nervous system is the calming. A quick "calm" as it is easy and effective.

Want to try it?

Take a big breath in
Fill your lungs with one more inhale
Slowly release
Repeat

What's your favourite breathing technique? What calms you down? Please share.

Love,

"I had no idea how subconsciously stressed I was, that I will be having a heart attack, like my Pa had at the age of 48". That's my husbands words before his 48th birthday last year. After his CT calcium test came back with 0 calcium, he was soooo relieved.

How to test for the risk of heart attack? Go and get a CT calcium score test. A simple but yet so revealing test.
You need a GP referral for your local radiology.
$160.00
20 minutes of your time, and the best, it is not invasive.

What if you do have build-up? You can take action and help your future self with

👉 lifestyle changes
👉 get medication in critical build-up
👉 take supporting supplements

Bottom line, it's affordable, and you can act on time if you have build-up. The calcium does not show itself until it's too late.

Have you done yours?

February is month. Why, I am not sure why February and not March, but that's fine by me. I love talking about what is good for our health, and today, I share with you what I learned in yoga last week. Our guru talked heart health, and we crossed our arms for a particular position. Your right hand goes under your armpit - your small finger is the meridian to your heart - we are talking about Chinese medicine here, whilst your right hand is busy under your sweaty armpit connecting and protecting your heart, your left hand warps around the right arm, not going under the armpit, and that is for your intestine health. So whilst we were in this position and Lindy was sharing her wisdom with us, I kept thinking that people are actually not rude at all when they cross their arms on me, they are just protecting their heart. So simple, right! I am amazed what gestures and position can actually mean in our world.

With all my ❤️
