Many women tell me, “I’m eating the same, exercising the same… but my clothes don’t fit anymore.”

It can feel unfair, and it’s easy to think you’ve done something wrong.

But here’s the truth: midlife weight gain isn’t a failure of willpower.
It’s a reflection of what’s happening under the hood.

As oestrogen drops, your body changes how it stores fat and uses energy. Add in sleep disruption, stress, and shifting muscle mass and suddenly, your usual routine doesn’t work the same way.

This isn’t about “fixing” your body.
It’s about understanding it, so you can work with your biology, not against it.

How can you tell if that “miracle cure” on Instagram is worth believing?
Here’s my 30-second test for whether to trust a health claim:

1️⃣ Google the claim + “PubMed” — is there actual research?
2️⃣ Check who wrote it — a qualified health professional or a brand trying to sell something?
3️⃣ See if it’s published in a journal or just a blog.

If it sounds too good to be true… it usually is. 😉

There’s no shortage of helpful advice about menopause floating around — mostly from people who’ve never actually studied it. 🙃

Here’s your reminder that when it comes to hormone therapy, the science is nuanced, the benefits are real, and blanket statements help no one.
