Biceps Brachii twist:
I went to play tennis after 6 yrs last few weeks and gees my biceps couldn’t handle it !! I noticed this weird twisted matted knot in my right biceps, which became apparent, after it starting aching while playing tennis quite painfully 🙃
It was only 2 hrs of tennis doubles ??! What tha?? So naturally, I treated it while playing, to some relief.
Since then I’ve worked on my biceps some more and am strengthening them to resolve this weird compensation completely, and align the muscle fibres in their right direction 💪
Funny thing, I’ve noticed several clients also having the same matted knotted compensation in their biceps this week!
So why does the biceps do this ?
Strain !! Overuse!! Compensation!!
When the biceps is under too much duress, the fascicles - bundles of muscle fibres bend and form more complex geometrical arrangements, rather then parallel alignment like they should.
Instead of a “chord like appearance” the biceps can form a “twisted ribbon-like appearance” impacting efficiency, strength and function.
Our biceps are constantly responding to the demands placed on them in majority of our movements. And if load is higher then capacity, the biceps twist and rearrange to cope.
There might be more of you who have this twisted knot in your biceps then u realised.
Do u have this altered compensation in your biceps?
Do you need release? Followed by some activation and strengthening by way of redesign?
Then why not book a session with me at Coomera or Tweed. You can message me directly 💕
