Regina, a single mum of three children under 10, asked ATL for help, when no-one else could. Life had become unbearable, until she reached out for support.

ATL funded equine-assisted therapy sessions that gave her the support she needed.

I am supporting someone to find a caring home for a marvellous therapy horse as a free lease. He is 15.2/3hh & has worked gently with all ages. He is a grey percheron X He is suitable for led mounted & light riding but has arthritis.
The current owner does not have land to keep him & is seeking a beautiful home as this is a very difficult choice to make
He is perfectly behaved in all ways.
First up to the gate, easy to clip, shoe, load & travel.
If someone can help out please DM me. He is currently in Sth East SA.

"I went to equine-assisted counselling last week because I was struggling with a relationship that was starting to trigger my anxiety. I knew I needed to get help to put in place boundaries that supported my mental health in that relationship.

As soon as I started talking about my situation, I became very emotional. The counsellor helped me recognise the physical impact of my emotions and to process them.

As we sat on a rock in the paddock observing the horses, I noticed that when my anxiety was high, the horses didn't want to know me. When my energy calmed and I became more present the horses came over to me. "

When I left my session, I felt a greater sense of peace and I look forward to continuing my equine-assisted counseling sessions to build my resilience.

I definitely needed the counsellor to guide me and I definitely needed the horses to show me how to be more present."
