You might hear the term Capacity Building a lot under the NDIS, but what does it actually mean?

Capacity building isn’t about fixing people or pushing them to change.

It’s about supporting skills, confidence, and independence over time in ways that feel safe, respectful, and achievable.

This can include things like:
💯 building confidence in everyday situations
💬 developing social and communication skills
🧠strengthening independence and decision-making
🧰 learning tools to navigate challenges

Capacity building is about growth at your pace and celebrating progress in all its forms.

❓ FAQ ❓

What types of support does my NDIS funding cover?

Not all types of support required by a person living with a disability fall under the responsibility of the NDIS. In general, the NDIS will fund reasonable and necessary supports that help a person living with a disability enjoy an ordinary life.

These supports and services fall into three categories:
- Core
- Capital
- Capacity-building.

For more information, you can visit the NDIS website.

When it comes to support, choices help people feel empowered and respected.

Even small choices like what to wear, how to start an activity, when to take a break.

Choice builds autonomy.
