For patients suffering from Aortic Stenosis, which is when the aortic valve of the heart, becomes narrowed or blocked treatment usually involves open-heart surgery.

Recent regulatory changes in Australia now means that the minimally invasive procedure called Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation, often called TAVI, is now available to lower-risk patients, giving them an alternative option to open-heart surgery.

HEART ATTACKS in WOMEN

The symptoms of a heart attack in women can differ from the ‘classic’ crushing chest pain that men experience when having a heart attack.

Women may also experience;

• shortness of breath
• nausea
• indigestion
• dizziness
• sudden feeling of anxiety that can feel like a panic attack
• cold sweats
