RUBY - SCOLIOSIS, KYPHOSIS, PAIN IMPROVEMENTS

Ruby came to us in pain and discomfort. After 20 sessions of applying the methodology we were able to make some significant changes to bring her into more alignment. This directly affected her pain levels which lowered from a 8/10 to a 3/10. This is what is achievable when you address the body as a system and not just treat the symptoms.

“Before doing FP I felt sore and stiff. I play a lot of sports but the day after I was always sore.
After the 20 sessions I felt less restricted, less pain and my posture improved.

This is for NEW and CURRENT clients who are wanting to learn the basics behind the functional patterns training methodology.

This 6 week class is specifically designed to help you unlock better movement, improve your posture and become pain free.

“Before discovering Functional Patterns (FP) through my naturopath, I thought I was doing everything right with exercise and lifestyle. I was weight training and doing reformer Pilates multiple times a week, but I was constantly revising my workouts due to injuries. Years of gym training hadn’t improved my pain, leaving me hopeless and frustrated.

My main issue was hip pain from a labral tear, likely caused by hip dysplasia and years of gymnastics.. Though I believed I was body-aware, FP revealed how much I didn’t know.

This is an update on D’s scoliosis progress. D has been doing FP for 3 years in total, started off with .eviston in Melbourne for 2 years, from April 2021 to August 2023, he laid the foundations before moving up to Sydney in September 2023.

D puts in the hard yards where he trains 3-4 times per week and trains at home as well. D’s schedule is very busy running 2 business’ but always finds the time for his biomechanics and health.

It’s great to see all of D’s hard work starting to pay off,. We’re to starting to make some changes to his spine and structure, which is amazing, as this is one of the most rigid scoliosis’ I’ve seen.

D has been told by specialists there’s been nothing he can do to straighten his spine but surgery. He was also told he had to be really careful when moving around, never to flex forward or to rotate as he might injure himself. D became fearful of movement, but through he has opened up a whole new range of movement dimensions he can do without concern. He’s feeling more open in his ribcage, and thoracic area allowing him to breathe better and have more confidence with his movement.

This has been a collective effort by FP practitioners world wide as D has trained with a number of different pracs over the years from Australia and overseas. Thank you to the fp Sydney pracs that have helped out along the way who’ve covered at different times

FP Sydney practitioner .marsala putting in some solid work and making gains with his client 👏🏾🔥

Manish started training with me at in September 2023, doing one session per week regularly.
Manish decided to train with Functional Patterns because, working as a gardener and using heavy equipment, he felt his trapezius muscles constantly contracted and under tension (9/10). Additionally, he felt that bodybuilding was worsening his athletic performance.
Now Manish feels that his muscles work more integratively and the tension on his trapezius has significantly decreased (2/10).
Thanks to my colleagues and .naumovski for initiating his journey with the first 10 sessions from January to August 2023. ______________________

I’m a musician from Sydney. Before training with Shannon I could barely drive, I lost proprioception in my fingers, I would have periods where I couldn’t feel my fingers, I would get shooting pains into the tips of my fingers when playing the piano, I could barely use a computer and it affected my ability to work. Eventually I would wake up every morning with a prickling sensation down both arms, numbness or pain in my hands. I also felt as if my shoulders would pop out of their sockets doing regular activities like walking out of my apartment, and subluxed my shoulder several times in my sleep. I also tore my labrum and broke my finger within a short time which led to misuse of my limbs. This was definitely the lowest point for me in my life, as I couldn’t play piano for more than 2 minutes without pain, felt as if I couldn’t control my fingers properly at the most basic level and thought I had no choice but to stop playing music which left me with the prospect of having no work and to return to uni and start over.

Since training FP I can now play the piano for up to 5+ hours pain free, I have regained better dexterity and use of my fingers than before, I can drive long distances pain free with no problems and I no longer get anywhere near the amount of the previous symptoms described above. Additionally, doing FP has enabled me to be happier and deal with stress much more competently, sleep better and have more energy. It has honestly changed my entire life and I feel the best I ever have. I’m just at the beginning and can only continue to improve so now I actually look forward to getting older.”

practitioner ***PERSONAL POSTURE PROGRESS**

First photo Dec 2017. Training 3-5 times per week doing traditional training, followed a traditional healthy diet (with some binge drinking every other weekend). Had lower back stiffness and R shoulder bursitis. Couldn’t sit cross legged comfortably, and attributed it to be a “tight person”. Not being aware the training I was doing was causing more harm than good

Second photo March 2023. Only doing functional patterns training. Be doing 2 hours per week of training at most. Cut out grains and alcohol which allowed the effects of the training to take place. I was able to access my core better to create more stability in my spine and more hydration in my tissues. Have no discomfort in my body, can play sports with no need to warm up, able to work 10+ hours per day as a trainer with no issues or pain in my body, have consistent energy and amazing sleep.

My body is thanking me for taking on a regenerative path towards health. I know I’m barely scratching the surface of the regeneration but I’m starting to feel the proper scaffolding take place. All the thanks goes to patterns and for laying the foundations of creating a system that not just looks at training and health, but more at our value systems that dictate our behaviours which ultimately affects our health.
