As I lay here awake, while everyone's asleep, I look at our beautiful new logo which takes me back to where we started. On Dandelion Day, 5th April 2023.
Nicque came over to my place and she pulled out a flip chart (seriously old school but effective 😂)
We began planning on how to make things easier for our grieving families. How to make farewells more authentic. How to ignore what other funeral companies were doing, but rather stick to what we believed in. We were determined to not make money our motivation and to let our hearts lead us.
Some days were hard. Other days were harder. We'd find ourselves sobbing in our cars. Some days we'd laugh along with guests at the funny anecdotes shared by friends and families.
Yet always, always...we felt deeply connected to the deceased and upheld their dignity, with our care behind the scenes, because that was, and will continue to be, our promise to the people who loved them, the people who trust us to care for them 🙏🏾 This is an honour we'll never take for granted.
Together with our devoted team at The Last Time Funerals, we know that in 3 years and hundreds of funerals later, we've made a difference to so many lives.
Our work truly matters as we continue to carry families through the most difficult times, 'their' Last Times. And with every goodbye, we believe there is hope.
Not all goodbyes are endings.
Like a dandelion seed
carried by the breeze,
it doesn't simply end...it moves.
It travels.
It settles.
And somewhere,
in ways we may not see,
it grows again ♡
I'm drifting off now, goodnight.
