going for a nice stroll with our patients 🐾

Therapy dogs like Toby provide more than just company- they play an important role in supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing. Their presence can help reduce anxiety, improve mood and encourage patients to stay engaged and active during their exercise.

Sometimes the best kind of therapy has four legs and a wagging tail 🐶

Marina’s passion for pickleball goes far beyond the game.

After being diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2016, pickleball helped her move better, grow stronger, and walk with more confidence.

But the impact didn’t stop there - it’s supported her physically, mentally, and socially, introducing her to an amazing community along the way.

This video tells Marina’s inspiring story to remind others that a diagnosis doesn’t mean life stops - it simply takes a new, meaningful direction… one that has changed her life 🧡

Standing up again wasn’t easy for Virginia.

Through consistent effort and lots of practice, she finally did it on her own.

It shows that even simple movements can take real work.

Her journey reminds us: persistence matters, and strength comes with effort.

Meet Marina 🧡

We had the privilege of meeting Marina, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and has been using pickleball as a powerful way to help manage her condition.

Through her own journey, Marina has become a pioneer for Pickleball for Parkinson’s, sharing firsthand how the sport has positively impacted her physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Her passion for sharing the sport with others has also led her to starting one of the first pickleball equipment shops in Sydney .com.au

Her story is powerful, inspiring, and a true reminder of how movement and community can change lives.

The full video sharing Marina’s experience is coming soon. In the meantime, here are some snaps from the day.

Thank you Vus from .com.au for the encouragement and support.

Parkinson’s may be part of Virginia’s story, but it will never define her.

Since her diagnosis in 2009, Virginia has shown one thing: strength is a choice.

In the physio sessions, we focus on what matters most for Virginia:
• Strength- to support her posture, balance, and daily movement
• Power – to help her muscles react quickly
• Walking – so she feels confident and capable with every step.

Every session, Virginia proves that courage beats limitation.

What a day!

We had an amazing opportunity to join the Club as they celebrated their 1st birthday 🎂 and reached the huge milestone of 300 members!

Thank you to the Suns Pickleball Club for inviting to be part of the celebration -birthday cake, great company, and plenty of physio chats about keeping players moving strong.

We loved being part of your special day.

Happy Birthday 🎉🎈🎁🎂

Walking on uneven grass and hills isn’t just tricky - it’s actually really good for you! 🌿💪

If you’ve got Parkinson’s (or just want to move better), tackling slopes and bumpy ground helps build leg strength, improve balance, and get your coordination working - all the stuff that keeps you steady in daily life.

It also gets different muscles working and challenges your brain in ways flat ground can’t.

Next time you see a grassy hill, take it slow, stay safe, and give it a go -it’s movement that actually does something!

Why we train bigger arm swing 🚶‍♀️

As we age, arm swing often reduces due to stiffness, weakness, or cautious walking.

We teach bigger arm swings to retrain the body and nervous system, helping older adults walk safer, steadier, and more confidently.

Why it matters:
✨ Improves balance & stability
✨ Boosts stride length & walking efficiency
✨ Engages core & upper body muscles

Small changes, big wins! 💪

It’s been a busy November, and with summer just around the corner, some of our patients are making the most of the sunshine while getting their daily exercises in.

A little sunshine, fresh air, and movement -the perfect combo
