Practicing mindfulness doesn’t mean you have to practice meditation.
Mindfulness is the skill of being present within yourself. To go inward and to observe your own thoughts, feelings and experiences. To unpack what is there without judging. So often we have so many plans, lists and worries racing through our minds. It’s easy to get caught up in it all.
We have mentioned journaling before. This is another way to practice mindfulness without having to meditate. This technique allows you to express in the form of writing instead. To spill your mind out onto paper so to speak.
Another way to practice could be to go for a walk without technology. On this walk try to focus on how your body feels, how the air feels around you. Try to become aware of your thoughts and experiences while you walk. The idea of this walk is that you are present, you aren’t racing from A to B. You aren’t trying to build up for a sweat. You’re taking yourself for a walk to be with YOU.
In our busy lives, taking time to tune into ourselves is so important. 🤍
