We were lucky to have Ms Debra from Baulkham Hills Family Day Care visit us earlier this week. She joined the children as they practiced their cutting and pasting during our flower-making activity and later shared in the children’s excitement as they washed the baby dolls with lots of bubbles. After listening to the story Wombat Stew during our virtual play session, the children created their own ‘wombat stew’ using ingredients from the book, such as feathers and ‘creepy crawlies’. They enjoyed mixing, pouring, and scooping, which supported sensory exploration, imaginative play, and language development as we talked about the ingredients and who added each one.
