HOW TO STABILISE YOURSELF IF YOU ARE ANXIOUS OR STRESSED.
A simple yet profound tool...
Your 5 senses.
As you walk to work...
As you sit on the bus...
As you get your morning coffee...
Note your environment.
1) What can I see around me? The road, the signs, the light shining through, the park, the buildings... hmmmm.. .what else?
2) What can I hear? The birds, the cars, the ocean.
3) What can I smell? Breakfast. Coffee. The roses. Pollution. What else?
4) What can I taste? Breakfast. Again ;) The morning juice I just drank.
5) What can I feel? The sun on my skin. The wind. The clothes on my body. Take note.
The reason why we have our 5 senses, believe it or not, is to help us "Configure" where we are in this physical reality.
The grand version of who we are, that many of you know lives within you deep down, you have glimpses of it, you just KNOW there is this brilliance in you... yet for whatever reason you can unleash it.... is there.
Our 5 senses are here to help us "Configure Ourselves" closer to that Grand Version of you.
It might sound a little out there or different... but it's the truth...
I myself have experienced it...
The next step to feeling stable and connected is noting what XIers (People who practice XI - Xponential Intelligence) call... "Spatial Awareness".
This is where you note where an Object is around you...
For example, the tree.... you note where the tree is in your environment.
You take a few minutes to really gauge it and note the details.
THEN, you become aware of a body part...
For this example we'll use your spine. You note the base of your spine, your vertebre, each disc, perhaps even the nerves running through as you move up your spine all the way to the top.
Note the details of your spine.
Next step ;)
Go back to the tree. Note where the tree is. Then, try and "feel" out the distance from the tree to your spine. Try and gauge the distance, the space inbetween.
It's important you move from the OBJECT FIRST then your BODY SECOND.
For this example, its Tree first then Your Spine.
As a note, when choosing your Object, it doesn't matter the distance from you, it could be the kettle in the morning, just make sure it's inanimate and not a human... use inanimate objects.
I'll explain WHY a little later :) The Science of it all.
So there it is....
Give this a crack.
Give it a go.
On your lunch break.
As you walk.
Take the AirPods out.
Turn off the music.
And stablise / strengthen yourself.
The stability you've been looking for is not found outside of yourself...
It may help, but only short-term.
Long-term stability is found within and is found practicing this little thing I've explained above.
Let me know how it goes through a private message if you give it a crack ;)
I dare you :P
Much love,
James
