✨ Downward-Facing Dog Pose … ✨

✨ Downward dog pose (AdhoMukhaSvanasana) is an inversion asana that involves starting on hands and knees, then lifting the hips up and back to form an upside-down "V" shape with the body. To perform it, tuck your toes, press through your palms while lifting your hips, and keep your spine long by bending your knees if needed.

✨ This pose is a full-body stretch that strengthens the arms and legs and lengthens the hamstrings and spine.

✨ YES. Most of them more than adults. Why? Because not only do active kids work harder than most adults and most of the kids I know train most days and then play and recess and lunch and none of them stretch….

✨ However the biggest reason is that they are on top of all this growing. So their bodies are under much more strain than adults as they are growing on top of all this training.

✨ If your kids are telling you they are sore. Listen to them.

✨ Child's pose is a relaxing yoga pose where you kneel on the floor, sit back on your heels, and fold your torso forward, resting your forehead on the floor and your arms by your sides or stretched out in front. It is often used as a resting pose to stretch the hips, back, and thighs, while also helping to calm the mind.

✨ Iliotibial Band or ITB✨

✨ Where is it and what does it do??

✨ It is a thick band of connective tissue that runs along the outside of the thigh. The top connects to the Iliac Crest and bottom to the Tibial Bone.

✨ It works with muscles like the gluteus maximus and tensor fascia latae to provide stability to the hip and knee during activities like walking and running.

✨ Massaging the ITB can provide immense relief to knees, lower back, glutes and hamstrings mainly.

✨ Strengthens the legs and back. Stretches inner thighs, hamstrings, calves, spine, shoulders, chest and opens hips. Energizes, balances and improves focus. Stimulates abdominal organs.

✨ Our hips naturally open, and rotate outward while sitting, which over time shortens the external rotators and the lateral hip muscles. It just so happens that these 4 muscle groups have to be functioning very highly in order for us to be able to create the beauty of the Warrior 3 pose.
