5 years ago I lost my youngest son to su***de.
Knowing that I had support at the time he died was limited.
The hope walk is a time to remember support and be there in the moment.
We still have our heads in the sand and stigma ignorance and busy lives don’t allow that moment to listen to that person struggling.
Next year is the 10 year anniversary for the hope walk this is not fundraising or asking for anything but your time.
All I ask is for you to be in the moment with me, to remember my sons that died to a disease called su***de. Break barriers and join me .
I only that you be in that moment with me of loss.
We provide a day of music connection and food free for you to enjoy and make connections and conversations.
That is my reality of su***de

5 years ago you left this earth.

Aaron eastwood RIP 21/9/1993 - 22/2/21
Your children are your everything and they should never die before their parents. How do I cope each day, I can’t explain. I always wanted laughter, happiness and a big family that would have joy and happiness. Instead you had pain. I do think though of the funny times we had. You had a wise head and deep thoughts. Your infectious smile and quirky grin.
But now all I have are those memories because depression and the trauma of pain consumed you and you silently died inside. Mental health is real. Your choice you made is real. I love you soo much my darling Peter Pan, Aaron Eastwood You are at peace 22/2/21.

If you have never zipped up body bags on a shift, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

If you have never watched a person suffocate to death from their own blood, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

If you have never been punched in the face for trying to assess your patient, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

If you have never had someone beg you to not let them die, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

If you've never had to look into parents eyes or hold them while they crumble when the doctor calls the time of death of their child, you shouldn't be deciding how much nurses make.

If you have never told your family your shift was “fine” to spare them from what you saw that day, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

If you’ve never felt ribs breaking from doing CPR on someone’s family member, you shouldn’t be deciding how much nurses make.

For years nurses have been underpaid and undervalued and no one seemed to care.

Now that healthcare is on the brink of a collapse, everyone is concerned.

Nurses are leaving the profession at rapid rates.

Perhaps it’s from the years of getting 1% raises and barely being able to pay bills. Maybe it’s because nurses are asked to do more and more with less. Maybe it’s from the terrible staffing ratios. The reasons are honestly endless.

Let’s start caring about nurse retention, fair wages, safe staffing, etc.

Let’s not get to the point where you need a nurse and there isn’t one to spare.”

Copied and Pasted From A Nurse

If you know the Nurse who wrote this we want to credit her ❤️ for the wonderful work she does and her honesty. You are an angel
Thank you to another nurse I know .
