~ THE SHEN ~
Traditional Chinese Medicine texts discuss the effects of the emotions on the physical body and how disease could be a manifestation of the disturbance of the Shen.
Yes, we live in a busy world and we are more often than not, sitting in our ‘fight or flight’ state. Imagine trying to take in the view from a train going 300km/h, everything is a bit of blur, but once it slows down you have the opportunity for your observations to be clearer, for your body to rest.
It is important to try and ease this internally pressure on your nervous system but adding in a daily practice of ~ meditation, acupuncture, breath work, yoga to allow the body and mind to slow down supporting ‘rest & digest’.
