SLIDERS SPOTLIGHT 🇦🇺🏒

Hi, I’m Luke. I’m 33, I'm from Melbourne! I’ve been playing hockey in different forms for almost twenty years.

I moved into powerchair hockey in 2017, and in 2018 I had the chance to represent Australia at the World Championships in Italy. Being selected again for the Sliders and heading to Finland next year means a lot to me and I'm so excited to challenge the best around the world and see what we can achieve.

I'm a very competitive person and I have a lot of belief in what we can do with the amazing squad that we have. Our squad is working hard. We’re committed, competitive, and ready to take on the best teams in the world. Getting there takes a lot of time, effort and resources, and any support makes a real difference!

SLIDERS SPOTLIGHT 🇦🇺🏒

Hello everyone, my name is Scott Topham and I’m proud to be a member and player of the Australian Sliders.

I’ve been playing powerchair hockey for 6 years now and have loved it ever since I started. When I was younger I always wanted to take part in sports like a lot of other kids my age, and at the time this wasn’t possible because of my condition. But this sport has been able to give me that privilege, to be able to take part in competitive sporting.

Developing my skills to get to where I’ve come today has been a long and challenging journey, playing locally in Perth with a smaller club. To have the honour to represent my country as an Australian means so much to me and I’m so grateful to play with an incredibly passionate and supportive community of members and players.

The work that is and has been put into forming, building and supporting this team is also really inspiring and motivating, to show that Australia can be truly competitive in this sport. This is all possible thanks to the donations and support you help us with to get every Slider over to Finland for the World Cup. Help us to show what Australia is made of!

SLIDERS SPOTLIGHT 🇦🇺🏒

Hi! My name is Daniel O'Brien, and I am proud to be a member of the Australian Sliders Powerchair Hockey Team!

I have played the sport for approximately 8 years, and that time has truly been special to me. Not only has this sport provided me the opportunity to experience the sporting field at its best, but it has introduced me to a prospering and welcoming community of which I am proud to have so many close friends.

The privilege to be invited to participate in the 2026 Powerchair Hockey World Cup is the dream of a lifetime for me, and I'm sure many of my fellow team mates can agree. The training I myself, and those around me have put in has pushed this team to a new level, and we are determined to push even further.

However, the process of getting the team from where we are now to the world cup is sure to be a trying experience.
That's why I am asking for your assistance! Any help provided would not only be assisting the team get to Finland, but assisting in growing the sport in experience as a whole!
