Celebrating World Down Syndrome Day with our favourite squad, Tom, Jake, Ben and Levi 🦅❤️
“World Down Syndrome Day matters to our family because it’s the one day each year where our son’s disability is celebrated.
When Levi was born, the doctor who delivered him said “I’m sorry.”
Before we knew the little person who had just arrived, the moment was framed as something tragic. And for a while, that stole some of our joy.
But then we got to know Levi and we realised very quickly that the problem was never Levi. It was the expectations placed on him.
The doctor who said “sorry” will never know the incredible person Levi has become.
But we do. And so do the people who include him, challenge him and give him the opportunity to thrive.
That’s why World Down Syndrome Day matters.” - Wendy Norton, Levi’s Mum
