has been supporting the Randwick community for over 20 years, and recently, they were ready to open the doors to something new.

This second location was more than an expansion. It was a chance to reimagine the experience for both patients and practitioners, starting with the space itself.

We worked closely with the team to shape an environment that feels calm, soft, and grounded. A place where people can feel safe enough to talk about difficult things and where psychologists can do their work without noise, clutter, or compromise.

There’s light, air, privacy. There’s intention behind every curve and corner. And most importantly, there’s a sense of ease from the moment you walk in.

Some spaces hold more than just square metres; they hold potential.

At Mona Vale Doctors, every inch was considered, every corner given purpose. What began as a compact clinic now breathes with light and function, thanks to a design that listens before it speaks.

We worked with the existing courtyard, lush with palms and flooded with natural light, and opened up four new consultation rooms to face it. Now, the practice flows with fresh air and natural light. A place where patients and practitioners alike can feel a little more at ease.

At Akord Projects, we believe design is about more than making space. It’s about making it matter.

A full fitout takes time. And in that time, things shift, ideas evolve, new opportunities appear, and sometimes, the best features are the ones you never planned for.

Take the arches at Dental Sleep & TMJ Therapy. They weren’t part of the original drawings. But partway through the build, we saw a moment to introduce them with no changes to the budget, just a shift in perspective. Now, they’re one of the most loved elements of the space.

Design doesn’t always follow the script. And that’s what makes it exciting. Sometimes, the most beautiful parts of a project appear when you’re not looking for them and you just know they belong.

What made Ponti Health so special wasn’t just the design decisions. It was the sense of shared purpose that unfolded throughout the project.

At Ponti Health , that trust ran deep. From day one, there was a shared language — spoken and unspoken — that allowed us to understand what mattered most.

Together, we built something that wasn’t just functional or elegant, but deeply aligned with a purpose: to create a space for women that feels thoughtful, calming, and powerful in its own quiet way.

For nearly three decades, @ cared for its community from one of Australia’s last remaining cottage clinics, a warm, familiar space where the relationships were just as enduring as the setting.

But as the community grew, so did the need for something more.

We helped the team move into a new space, one designed not just to hold more patients, but to reflect the kind of care they’re known for, without letting go of where they came from.

Warm timber, soft greens, and photos of their original cottage now hang across the new practice; quiet reminders of the place that shaped their story.

Calm. Natural. Thoughtfully modern. A new chapter that still feels like home.

Dr Cindy Wong knew exactly what she wanted: a space that flowed, that felt calm and considered, with every element in its place, including a dedicated pathology area.

What she didn’t want? To spend her time chasing updates.

So we made it easy. While stayed open and her team continued caring for patients, we quietly got to work, managing every step, staying ahead of the curve, and reaching out before she ever needed to.

Every idea she shared in those first few meetings lives in the final result. Every inch of the clinic has a purpose. And every part of the process was shaped to give her the one thing that mattered most: peace of mind.

There’s a rhythm to a well-run clinic, and we didn’t want to disrupt it.

Throughout the transformation of , the team kept working, the patients kept arriving, and the build kept moving forward.

For Heidi, the Practice Manager, that rhythm never skipped a beat. Every choice was communicated clearly, every change handled with care. She always knew what was happening, when it was happening, and why.

That’s what a well-held project looks like, not only finished beautifully, but carried well all the way through.

Years ago, we helped Dr. Nerida McDonald bring her first practice to life. So when it came time to create her new one, she didn’t hesitate, she came straight to us.

She knew we’d understand her vision from the get-go. That we’d be quick, organised, and always ready to pivot if something unexpected came up (and yes, things did come up). But that’s the nature of fitouts, and it’s also where we thrive.

Together, we turned every challenge into clarity, and every space into something that truly resonates with her.
