In our Lifestyle Event on progressing exercise safely, Exercise Physiologists Robyn and Sarah explored how to increase load in a way that supports your joints 🦵 rather than aggravates them. They covered the 10 to 20 percent rule, how to recognise the difference between helpful discomfort and warning signs, and why small, consistent increases 📈 matter more than big jumps. If you live with arthritis, persistent pain or fatigue, this approach can help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

Forsteo is a daily ☀️ injection designed to stimulate bone-forming cells, helping rebuild bone strength in people who need a more intensive approach. It is typically used when other medications have not given enough improvement. Early side effects such as nausea or light-headedness 😵💫 often improve within the first few weeks. Once the 18-month course is complete, another medication is required to preserve the new bone.
Paediatric physiotherapy is never one size fits all. Every child 👶 grows, learns and moves at their own pace, which is why sessions focus on collaboration and practical support. 🫶
Parents leave with clear guidance, simple activities and a better understanding of their child’s movement. Small, consistent steps at home can make a meaningful difference over time. 🎈

Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis is one of the most common chronic conditions affecting children, yet it often goes unrecognised. Early diagnosis and the right management can make a meaningful difference to long term joint health and day to day confidence. 🧸
This JIA Week, we’re highlighting the importance of movement, 🤸♀️ education, and coordinated care for children and adolescents living with JIA. At BJC Health, Physiotherapist Blanche Leung works with young people to build strength, improve joint control, and support safe, confident participation in school, sport, ⚽ and everyday activities.
If your child is living with JIA and you’re looking for practical, evidence based support, we’re here to help. 💛

Your pelvic floor supports your bladder, bowel, and uterus. Dysfunction is not just leaks. It can show as pain, heaviness, difficulty emptying, back pain, or discomfort during exercise 🏋️ or intimacy.
Physiotherapy assesses posture, core and hip function, breathing, and pelvic floor coordination. Care may include pelvic floor retraining, relaxation strategies, manual therapy, and education to improve daily habits and movement. 🤸♀️
Learn more about how women’s 👭 health physiotherapy can support pelvic floor function, improve coordination, and help you move through daily life with greater comfort. Consider speaking with your GP or physiotherapist if you’d like guidance tailored to your needs. 🌸

This Wednesday, we have an upcoming Lifestyle Event on osteoporosis management with Endocrinologist Dr Dahlia Davidoff. This session builds on her previous talk and will explore osteoporosis medications in more detail, including how they work, who they may benefit most, and how newer therapies fit into an overall bone health plan.
Do your knees 🦵 crunch, click or crack when you move? In his recent blog article, Physiotherapist Jackson Zhou explains what these sounds 👂 mean, why they are often completely normal, and when they may need further assessment. For many people with knee pain or arthritis, noise alone is not a sign of damage, and movement 🤸♀️ remains one of the most important tools for joint health.
Tonight’s group is a chance to connect with people who understand the day to day realities of RA. Rosemary helps guide each session in a steady, welcoming way, creating room for honest conversations and shared insight. Our topic for tonight is "Balancing RA medications and infection risks."
You are welcome to join with your camera on or off.
We meet tonight, 11 March at 6:30pm AEDT 💜

Low back pain is more than a local ache: it can affect how you move, sleep, 😴 and think about your body. Our 6-week program helps you explore the causes of persistent pain and what you can do to strengthen your spine safely. Through guided exercises, 🏋️ education, and small-group support, you’ll work on posture, flexibility, and endurance. Our Purpose is to change the lives of people with rheumatic disease to help them live & feel better.
The clinic began in 2002 as a multidisciplinary clinic targeting musculoskeletal disease and was named, The Bone & Joint Clinic.
We recognised that the way forward in improving the treatment of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injury would involve a coordinated, comprehensive service that no one doctor or allied health professional could reasonably provide.
As the clinic evolved, our focus broadened, with the addition of many complementary specialty services. In October 2009, the clinic was renamed BJC Health to help reflect this.
Over time however, our focus has returned to concentrating on rheumatology, treating all forms of arthritis and the broad spectrum of musculoskeletal diseases.
BJC Health has evolved to look & feel like a world-class rheumatology clinic. We continue to strive to provide world-class service with a culture geared towards continuous improvement.
We aim to become the go-to center for people with rheumatic disease living close to our clinics.
