Ever wondered what happens after your planning CT scan at CCA MB?

Your Radiation Oncologist prescribes your radiation dose and outlines the target to ensure precision accuracy when treating you. They will also outline what normal tissue to avoid to reduce side effects. Our Radiation Therapist will then design a radiation plan to meet our doctors prescription. Our physicist will perform quality assurance checks on the treatment machine to ensure what is planned is accurately delivered.

Everyone works as a team to give you the best quality care.

The team at CCG are excited to be creating a photo wall in both the chemotherapy treatment room and the staff room, helping showcase our team spirit and the moments that make CCG such a special place to work.

See here the team proudly marked Cancer Nurses Day with their signature purple-themed photo, and celebrated Daffodil Day, where members volunteered to help sell daffodils in support of the Cancer Council - a wonderful opportunity to engage with the community and raise awareness.

Here is what Luke Jenkinson, the Centre manager of our newest Cancer Care centre in Moreton Bay, had to say on the momentous opening late last year.

"What an achievement for all involved, [...] creating a much-needed access point for patients who require cancer treatment in the Moreton Bay region. Improving access and removing barriers to care has always been at the front of CCA and this centre follows that direction."

We are pleased to welcome Dr Darsh*t Thaker, who will shortly commence consulting at Cancer Care Moreton Bay. This will be alongside his ongoing roles in oncology and palliative care at Caboolture Public Hospital and Caboolture Private Hospital. This expansion enhances access to comprehensive cancer services in the region, including local radiation therapy, supporting timely, multidisciplinary care closer to home.

We look forward to working together to improve access, convenience and outcomes for patients across Moreton Bay.

Happy New Year from WHOC.

We have some exciting trials currently in feasibility assessment, setting the stage for a promising start to the new year. Trials for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia, Multiple Myeloma, and Von Willebrand Disease are currently in the pipeline, reflecting our commitment to expanding access to potentially life-changing therapies.

WHOC is thrilled to share that our infusion space is expecting a fresh upgrade with new treatment chairs in the new year. These additions were selected with comfort, practicality and patient wellbeing in mind and will help create a more comfortable environment for our staff and patients.

As our team continues to grow, so does the need for streamlined workflows. We are adding to the workstations on wheels (WOWs) squad ensuring we all have the flexibility to bring charting and documentation chairside.

We couldn’t have thought of a better way to close out the year than with togetherness and a bit of laughter.

Cancer Care Associates is proud to introduce our dedicated Breast Cancer Service to our Macarthur Centre, bringing together an experienced multidisciplinary team of breast surgeons, medical oncologists and radiation oncologists.

Have a look at the presentation night we hosted recently with BCAL Diagnostics. We were thrilled to introduce this team to local GPs, offering a valuable opportunity to highlight our integrated approach to breast cancer care and the expanded services coming to the Macarthur region.
